Well, I think Wie has actually managed to do a first in my book......

She must be the only 16 year old talented golfer that I am absolutley sick of hearing and reading about.

You know the funny thing about that is that you could avoid being sick of hearing and reading about that particular 16 year old by doing a few common sense things.

1. Don't read or post on DBs when Michelle's name is mentioned, particularly in the heading of the thread.

2. Skip reading any news articles when Michelle's name is mentioned. If not mentioned in the headline, and you see it later, immediately close your eyes and go to something else.

3. If someone brings up her name on TV or Radio, quickly as fast as your fingers can manage, change the station.

I believe those three steps alone will alleviate at least 85% of your tensions and illness regarding Michelle Wie.

Jud, my post was light hearted, tongue in cheek. Don't get uptight about it. Geez.

Another example of the anti-Wie sentiment of DEFINITIVE STATEMENTS.

The reality is SHE MIGHT.

Personally, I don't think she will qualify, but I do know that it is possible.

Michelle's pairing partners for Sectional:
David Gossett and Rick Hartmann.

Quote:
Gossett won the U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach in 1999, shot 59 at Q-school a year later and won the John Deere Classic in 2001, the first player since Tiger Woods to win a PGA Tour event on a sponsor's exemption. Now, he doesn't even have status on the Nationwide Tour.
David Gossett is 27 years old. Although a pga winner, he has really struggled over the last couple of seasons.
In 2005, his only pga event was The John Deere Classic, and he shot 84, 81 versus Michelle's 70,71.

-----

Rick Hartmann:
He too played in the US Open in 2000, making the cut and placing 46.
He also played on the European tour for 10 years.

-----

Funnily enough, both Michelle's partners played in one US Open and it was the 2000 US Open for both of them. That's a big coincidence given the age gap between them.
That certainly gives them extra experience, having done it already.
At least they are both used to crowds, so it shouldn't phase them much.

So you're saying if she were allowed to play all the LPGA events she wanted to, she wouldn't be playing in men's events?

He didn't say that. All he said was she is playing the maximum she is allowed so please stop telling her to concentrate more on the lpga.

For all I know about baseball, the Royals could have won the world series for the last 10 years running.

By the way, how many countries participate in the world series.

I didn't find judD's post "uptight" at all. I found it very amusing... LOL-amusing as a matter of fact.

I wonder how well any Major League Baseball franchise would fare if they could only field U.S. citizens, or worse yet, native born citizens. If the Little League World Series is any indication, the USA may not always be top dog.

To avoid a complete threadjack, I can see Michelle making it through the qualifiers and actually getting to play in th U.S. Open. I think she is good enough to get that far. But I doubt she'll make the cut the first time she makes it into the field.

My $50 bet is probably worth $150 now. My friend is getting nervous. I bet $50 to win $350 from him. He says MW will be lucky to par the second round. Will see.
