Lumpy is looking to make it 2 straight. He has a 2 stroke lead after 13 today. I see BB2 winner, Kip Henley got a shot with the big boys this week 84-79 & gone. He must've received a sponsors exemption.
The Lumpster failed to make a birdie on the easier inward nine, while his four closest pursuers combined for 15 birds and two bogeys. Tim had been looking great with his putter but wobbled a tad coming home. Still looking good, though, in his bid to go back-to-back. That would be huge for a guy like Lumpy.

Henley is from Tennessee, so that sponsor's exemption is likely, or a Monday qualifier. He also got another shot last week on the Nationwide Tour and missed the cut with 74/79. Just goes to show the difference in being a really good golfer and being a tour pro; not to say he couldn't play the tours, but when it's your life, it's different.
You have to love the St Jude Leaderboard as we enter the final round. Anyone within 5 strokes certainly has a reasonable chance. Those who are 6 or 7 strokes back will have to work hard just to get within sight of the lead.
Is this the kind of golf you prefer? Works For Me.
The course looks like it can really be tough if they get tricky with pin placement. Some of those greens must be pretty hard to read. Lumpy lost his big lead pretty quick. I agree with Frank - anyone within 5 has a good chance. Chris Cox sure was playing well, and Tom Pernice, Jr. looked really good down the stretch. If Herron doesn't control his putting, he'll be out of it by the turn today.
Looks like Jeff Maggert came out of the pack and won this one rather easily in the end. Will the "guys who haven't won this millenium" streak continue at Jack's place this week?

It is surprising that this is only his third career victory. However, I think Maggert could be a good darkhorse pick for the U.S. Open with his Open record and he finished third at Winged Foot in 1997 P.G.A. (Also, 3rd at Bethpage in 2002 and 3rd at Shinnecock in 2004).
