Has Greg Norman Given Up Competitive Golf

I know Greg Norman went through a divorce, but how many senior events has he played since he turned 50 last Feb.? I think it was only one or two.

Between his golf course developement, clothing line and his vineyards/wine making he's making over $300 million per year. Who needs golf?

Ain't that the truth. I think the hip is still a major problem. I think Greg still likes golf.

There was an article in either Forbes or Business week less than a year ago about the richest athletes.

Michael Schumacher was number 1 at about 1.3 billion USA dollars. I think Tiger was 2 or 3 or it was Jordan.

Shark was top 10 for sure. The surprise was they named who the big up and coming money earner was ind it was Maria Sherapova. She has only been in the spotlight to non tennis fans for about 2 years and I think they said she had amassed almost 250 million so far.

Lots of soccerplayers were on the list.

Let me do a google search for it or It may still be at our office in the waiting room.

and that could be a huge problem for the "Champions Tour" in the future. The big names have made so much money, due to increased purses and endorsements, that they won't really need to play for pay anymore outside of the occassional corporate event.

I believe he has a nagging injury that he either had fixed or is letting heal up. I do hope he plays again soon, he's always been one of my favorites.

Greg Norman had knee surgery in February.

He expects doctors to give him the green light in June to start practicing with plans for a busy summer schedule including the U.S. Senior Open in early July.

He should also be at the Open Championship. He has an exemption there and hopes to play.

He is also pencilled in for The Australian Open from November 16-19.
Once he knows that his knee is okay he will enter for more tournaments.

He's not ranked in the top 994 whether thats from inactivity or playing badly I don't know. Also Tom Watson was ranked 905. I guess what you do on the senior tour means nothing.
