The 2006 Memorial Tournament

I sure hope a player with some name recognition wins this year? Looking at list of past champions, Bart Bryant is the only name that doesn't belong (IMO). Any predictions on who will win?

1993 Paul Azinger
1994 Tom Lehman
1995 Greg Norman
1996 Tom Watson
1997 Vijay Singh
1998 Fred Couples
1999 Tiger Woods
2000 Tiger Woods
2001 Tiger Woods
2002 Jim Furyk
2003 Kenny Perry
2004 Ernie Els
2005 Bart Bryant

Wish I could be there. Will be at another event though.
Jim Furyk would be one of my faves

Muirfield Village seems to be a ballstriker's kinda course...as such, Par5Score2's Furyk pick makes a lot of sense. I actually kinda like Vijay this week to have a good week as well.

Why is that ? No offense, but you sound like parts of the american golfing media who bagged michael campbell for winning the open. They said "it's not good for the game...."

That really gets on my nerve, but oh well,it was probably a couple of geriatric 80 year olds who were brought up hating black people & telling woman they werent allowed to play golf, let alone vote

Anyway - Adam Scott for the win

For me, it is such a let down when I turn on the golf on Sunday and some guy I've never heard of is leading the tournament. That's how I felt when I watched Bart Bryant win last year. I don't expect to see the same five people win every week, but I would like to see some consistency. As a golf fan, I would prefer to see a player pay his dues on tour before he wins. Ben Curtis is a perfect example. He comes out of no where to win The Open and hasn't done a think since.

i personally like new faces winning tournaments, especially youngsters.
this year has been a good year for first time winners, and that's just how i like it.
like when tiger, nicklaus etc.... are/were playing at their best they are/was virtually unbeatable, it looks like its getting to a point now were anyone has a chance on any given week, and what can be so bad about that, bit of unpredictability etc...... i love it.

The analysts on the golf channel said he was really hitting the ball well on the range, but having trouble bringing it to the course. I would like to see him hold it together and get back to where he was before.

Looks I jinxed Duval. At least he had it together for 9 holes before going back to his old ways.

As for Garcia, don't be fooled. We've been through this boat before. He's like one of those horses in the Kentucky Derby that always gets off to a good start and then as they round turn, falls apart. I'd bet a lotta money it's the same old carousel this week.
