Wie looking to make history on Monday

What do you think will Michelle Wie enter into the history books on Monday, I think the chance of her scoring low enough to make the cut is slim what are your thoughts.

with you on the slim chance- from what i have seen of her play she doesnt seem to handle serious pressure well - and makes some poor decisions on the course leading to either a great shot or a big number - not a good idea on a tough course for a open qualification

I agree with slim and none, leaning heavily toward "none."

If she qualifies I can only imagine the circus the US Open will become!

There are 153 in the field.
135 of them are professionals.
There are 4 dozen pga tour pros, former major champions, many nationwide tour players and many successful club pros.

Michelle would need to play her best, and certainly has a chance.
However, my opinion is she won't make it.
Top 70 placing would be very good, top 50 would be great.

They'd need a bigtop for sure. Duffy Waldorf already wears clown clothes!

At 7pm, eastern time on The golf channel, there is a 3 hr special going through her round, and the other qualifiers, but lets be honest, most of it will probably be about her if she comes close. If she qualified, they might give a one minute segment to the rest of the players.

She played her heart out, but once again showed that she's 16 and not ready to for the PGA. However, Wie did prove something very positive today for female golfers that seemed lost on the golf analysts: Tee to green, the length, the rough, the "male" set up of the course, etc. did not bother her. Her putter was what let her down. She had plenty of chances - she just couldn't make a putt.

How many other 16 year olds (male or female) have ever qualified for the US Open - I can't understand the general hostility. She is a phenomenon and handles the media pressure pretty well - a pity she didn't make the cut.

For all the naysayers - try and imagine your 16 yr old kid in any important qualifier in any fieldand give her some leeway!

her ball-striking was amazing. period. her putter however... just not up to PGA Tour standards. but she'll find a way to fix that
