Michelle is gone to -4 and in 8th position.
The comentators were talking not so long ago about her being in 98th, and 10 shots off the lead.
It's got a bit better since then.
I wonder what conditions the afternoon starters will have. They had the easier conditions yesterday, so Annika and co. will probably rue not doing better then.
Another birdie for Wie on hole 2, that's 3 in a row, takes her to 5 under.
Into a share of 4th place.
However her playing partner has 4 birdies in a row and is gone to 10 under, 3 clear of the field. I don't think Dorothy Delasin is a serious threat for the title though.
Dorthy's slipped back a bit with a double bogie. She's only two ahead of Wie at this time.
The afternoon will be windier, just like Wie faced yesterday with her late tee time. I still expect some people to shoot under par and move up the leader board so Wie's 5th place at this time will most likely slide a bit. But, she's clearly playing great golf and is in excellent position to compete for the title.
Dorthy bogied another one and is now only 1 ahead of Wie. There are 6 women tied at -6 and then there's Wie at -5. I don't think that Dorthy's a factor at all, but watch out for Ochoa, Kerr, Annika, etc. There are a lot of big names in this thing.
Wie just posted -4 for a 68 which is the best round of the day so far. The wind will be about twice as strong in the afternoon (according to Accuweather), but won't be too big a factor. Most of the names ahead of Wie at this time are players that you wouldn't expect to hold up, and, they're only 1 shot ahead at this time.
However, my bet is that several big name players will post good scores today and move ahead of Wie. No matter what happens, she's in contention and it will be an interesting weekend.
Wie is playing well i think.. at the end of her round she rallied.. 3 birdies.. annika is falling off.. her swing is looking terrible on the drives.. and morgan pressel is sick.. so i feel bad for her
Excuse me, but didn't Annika WIN this event last year for the third consecutive year, or is that irrelevant when it comes to how well Wie did?
The only relevant point to what I posted was in reply to what the original poster stated. If you read that post you would understand why I mentioned the last round scores. Since I was replying to the poster that stated Michelle always
falters in her final round while Annika always picks up the pace, I felt it was relevant. I don't see where I said Michelle won, or where I said she played better than Annika or any of those things you are trying to imply.
Pressel, Gulbis, and Creamer, there all better looking then her.. and they can post better scores
Why do Pressel, Gulbis and Creamer almost NEVER post better scores than Wie? Look at thier scores in the tourney's that Wie has been in with them. Wie blows each and every one of them out of the water almost every time.
