Rodney, is that Shi Hyun Ahn in your avatar ? If so, good eye. This is the first good look I've had at her game. She looks very good out there..oh and she can really play some too.
Arg, Wie was tied for the lead but missed a 6 foot putt on 16 to fall one behind the leaders. The greens aren't rolling as true as they should be for a major tourney (too soft to avoid the footprints?). She then missed something like a 15 footer for birdie on 17 and now needs to birdie (for the 4th day in a row) the 18th in order to tie the leaders.
Still a chance. Either way, she has once again, been in the hunt right up to the final hole of an LPGA major.

sigh.. yeah.. just wish she don't always save the best for last.. haha it's nerve wrecking for her fans..
Pressel, Gulbis, and Creamer, there all better looking then her.. and they can post better scores
Let's see how your picks did. Wie beat them by the following margins:
Wie beat Pressel by 15 shots
Wie beat Creamer by 10 shots
Wie beat Gulbis by 4 shots
Like I said Wie has a history of beating them by large margins in almost every tourney she enters. It's just too bad she can't enter more LPGA events.
She had a 40 foot putt for birdie to tie the leaders on 18 that she new she had to make so she gave it a good run and it went by too far to make the come-back putt. She's got the will to win, could have two putted easily, but knew she had to be aggressive in hope of the tie. Otherwise she would have beat your picks by a total of 33 shots instead of just a total of 29 shots.

^^ haha the rough ate them up today.. but I dont know, wie needs to fix that little putting stroke.. same with others though.. there all good young players
The golf channel is commenting on the greens and Wie mentioned that she hit the putts well enough to go in, but that they "broke right or left at the hole" and just didn't fall. I know the feeling when you think it's going in and it dives away at the last second.
Oh well, that's a top 5 finish for Wie in the last 4 out of 5 majors she's been in. Nobody else can say that, not even close.
PS: Go Se Ri!! What a spectacular shot on the first playoff hole. 190 yards to about 6 inches!

Indeed it is.
She played really well and was in there on the last hole too. Pity she hit it in the water on the last. If she had put it on the green, she had a birdie putt for the playoff too.
I also think maybe Shi Hyuan Ahn knocking it in the water made Wie feel a little more conservative or a little more consious of the water. Of course it was always going to be difficult to get close from the rough she was in. Hitting it in the rough on 18 made it very difficult for Wie to judge her approach to give herself any decent chance of birdie.
What a shot by Se Ri. When she hit her drive, I thought she was toast. It's great to see her back... Karrie , too. This is the strongest the women's game has been in my memory. As for Michelle, even with the 35 putts it was more the poor wedges that did her in. You just have to put it inside 20' from < 120 out. Another fine showing in a major for her though and more importantly another chance in 2 weeks.
I am absoultely DELIGHTED that Se Ri Pak won.
Her approach on the last was excellent, but it was also extra good considering she bogied the last, first time out, when just needing a par for the win.
As for Michelle Wie I think she did pretty well down the stretch.
From hole 11 to 15 she went: birdie, par, birdie, par, birdie.
That was a very good run and got her to -8 and tied for the lead.
She hit a poor shot from the middle of the fairway on 16, and that cost her a bogey. But there isn't a player, who didn't hit at least a couple of bad shots over the last few holes. Karrie did. Se Ri did.
Hole 17 well played by Wie. I was a little disappointed that she drifted into the rough on 18, but I was very happy with her birdie attempt. She really gave it a chance. She has already had 2nd and 3rd in majors, so she was going all out for the win, and that's why she made bogey.
So one thing I hope is that people won't say, she had a chance and bogied 2 of the last 3, because as davidhowe mentioned above, she only made bogey on the last, due to going all out for birdie.
Great tournament overall and I'm very happy that Se Ri Pak won another major. She is a terrific person.
Well Michelle's 3-putt bogey on 18 was irrelevant for reasons mentioned by others, but the shaky tee shot that almost found the hazard was not, nor was her rather indifferent wedge. A good showing by Michelle, but it's obvious that she has not been able to find her comfort zone down the stretch. Unlike some others here, I have no doubt that she will, though.

Exactly.

Definetely the tee shot was poor. But the 2nd, I think it was difficult for her having watched her playing partners shot go in the water.

3 birdies from 11 to 15 was pretty comfortable play.
A very simple mistake at 16 from the centre of the fairway was pretty bad, but we should be too hard on someone who just birdied 3 of the last 5 holes.
If anyone names an in contention player, I can name specific mistakes they made down the stretch. That includes Karrie and Se Ri.
Karrie gave it up on 17 and 18.
Se Ri made a mistake which could have cost her, if had Michelle's partner who was -8 through 16, birdied one of the last 2 holes.
In a major, a bit of luck is required when it is close.
Se Ri relied on others and she got the bit of luck, but personally I'm delighted and she was a worthy winner.

I agree. Any doubts that I had about her were pretty much put to rest this weekend. What was painfully evident, however, is that she continues to fizzle down the stretch with the putter. She made that long bomb on 15 for bird, but gave it right back by missing the 5 footer on 16. She hit a wonderful shot on 17 tee, put it to within 10 feet. That was the biggest putt of the tournament, she needed it. She makes that putt, imo she puts herself in great position to close the deal. She couldn't convert it.
The only flaw that I see with her game seems to be the one common thing with most all of the players this weekend in particular -- the putting. Pat Hurst 4 jacked two days in a row, final two rounds of a major. The worst putting performance by far of any player this weekend. But it seemed to be contagious. I saw a lot of great approach shots, but it was almost like they suddenly dropped to our level once they got on the greens. LOL....
Congrats to Se Ri, I thought she played a great tournament.
Great tourney! I flipped over to watch the Barclay men's tourney, and found it less interesting than the ladies game. Some great golf, and a fight to the end. Se Ri Pak earned this title! And with 4 Korean ladies (Wie is from Korean parents) in it up until the last few holes, I knew one of them had to win!
The putting did seem rough - were the greens the women were on the same kind of grass that the men were playing on? The ABC crew was commenting on how bouncy the men's putts were. The little bit of the Barclay tourney I did watch showed some awful bounce and roll to the putts, just like some of the women were experiencing.
Anyway, great golf, and great coverage by the Golf Channel! Too bad the Senior Tour got washed out.
