I just find it rediculous that Se Ri Pak WON the tournament and yet STILL everyone's talking about the girl who finished wherever.
Way back in post 89, I discussed how delighted I was that Se Ri Pak won the tournament, and stated that I thought she was a terrific person.
I notice that you have yet to congratulate her on her win in this thread.
You are giving out about people discussing Michelle Wie when Se Ri won.
In that case why was the following your first post after the tournament, where you focused solely on Michelle.

Another completely unimpressive closing stretch. And I'm shocked, just shocked to hear her complaining about the greens.
Looks like more of the usual. This is also more of the usual:
"It shows a lot that I played my 'B' game and I'm still in the top five," said Michelle.
It shows me nothing. It shows me she can't show up in the clutch, and apparently doesn't really care.
Was there any mention of Se Ri Pak, in your analysis?
No, it was all about Michelle Wie.
I must admit I cringed at Michelle's 'B' game comment, but I think that she just wanted the interview to end. Everyone is still talking "about the girl", because she is just that. To say you're getting tired of the bridesmaid "act" is beyond ridiculous when talking about a 16 YO who can't even play on a regular basis and works much of her golf around her high school schedule. Get used to it. Get over it. She is not going away. She will only get better. As long as she keeps playing as she has during the few chances she gets, there is no pressure. There will be no real pressure on her until she starts playing a full schedule, if she still has not won yet.... a highly unlikely scenario, IMO.
There's nothing to get over - I couldn't give a toot less about Michelle Wie if I tried. I just find the obsession with her hilarious considering her record.
And, to me, the "fitting it around high school etc." thing is just another excuse - Tiger managed to win 3 junior world championships, 3 junior U.S. Am's and 3 U.S. Amateurs just fine working his golf around high school and college.
You either win at the level you're playing at or you don't.

Ya right!

Obsession. That's like the pot calling the kettle black. You are as obsessed with her as anyone.

She is 16. At that stage of his schooling he had 1 junior usga title.
Tiger was hardly competing against the best players in the world back then. Her sustained play thus far surpasses that of anyone anywhere near her age in history. If you're not obsessed, then you're wasting a lot of keystrokes. I admit I'm a huge fan and at this point would rather watch a strong field LPGA event than a weak field PGA event.

The best junior amateurs in the world don't play at the world junior amateur? Like I said, either you win against the competition you're playing against or you don't, but you can't let the level of your competition be an excuse for not winning. No one's forcing you to play.

I probably would, too. As for the obsession question, I do believe the number of Wie threads I've started is exactly zero, as opposed to some people who start nothing but Michelle Wie threads.
(this last comment is not directed at you, of course)
Where you and I are different is that you, without Wie, would be almost extinct around here. Whereas I'm only interested in refuting your claims of Wie's ability to compete with the men and trying to remove your blinders when it comes to her weaknesses.
If suppose if anyone is an expert on Wie obsession......it would be you.

I used to worship my sports heros too........until I got a bike for
my 10th birthday.
You got a clap from mr3856a, I think that says it all.
The day mr3856a starts applauding someones comments, is a day that they should be very worried indeed.
