lpa course longer than european mens course

European Tour Course: 6455 yards, par 71
LPGA Tour Course: 6,596 yards, par 72.

These figures are from the events starting June 8th on both tours.

The women's course is just one shot less on par, and it is 141 yards longer.
Maybe several of the ladies competing at the lpga championships could actually compete on the European Tour this week instead.

Ochoa could surely hold her own, if she was on form.

The 6455 is meters not yards, it equates to 7,000 + yards.

Lefty, you are right on that link.

However on the live score it is different:
Total yards: 6455
Total metres: 5902

http://scores.europeantour.com/default.sps?pagegid={8455C601-B598-43F0-AE27-8559DC7985DD}&redirectorid=tournament_live&eventid =2006044&ieventno=2006044&infosid=2

Just look over the players names on the right hand side.
That's where I got the info.

EDIT:
Also take a look at Monty's scorecard:
http://scores.europeantour.com/default.sps?pagegid={8455C601-B598-43F0-AE27-8559DC7985DD}&eventid=2006044&iPlayerNo=2586&id=25 86&TourID=1&infosid=2

There it also says:
6455 yards.
5893 metres.

That's a good question.
We use the metric system in general use.

However most golf courses use yards. Many show distances in both metres and yards. I've got score cards on some courses that just have metres. It is strange. The courses I usually use, show both.
