Padraig Harrington's 9 birdies today at Barclays Classic

Defending champion Padraig Harrington birdied 9 holes in Round 2 today at the Barclays Classic! Padraig also had 4 bogeys on the back nine. Padraig played the back first.

That is a wild round! I would have liked to have seen that, but it wasn't televised here.

Padraig birded 7 out of 8 holes at one stretch and got a par on a par 5!

After all of that, Padraig is now tied for 29th.

I happened to have him on my fantasy golf team and starting today, too. It wasn't looking good when he started out 3 over after 6 holes...

Maybe this is all part of Harrington's cunning plan that I was discussing in another thread.

It's all part of his preparations for the US Open. He is just testing a few things out.

He is super talented, and he can really turn on the style. Unfortunately he has been mixing great stretches with dreadful stretches.

If he were to turn it on consistantly at the US Open, he could win by about 10 shots, he is that good. However consistancy is key.
He just needs to put it all together for one tournament.

I'm a great fan of Paddy and I believe he has a Major in him but I think we have been on the Bushmills and Murphys a bit .

Yes, fantasy golf is like fantasy football. In fact, the fantasy golf at PGATOUR.com is very similar to fantasy football because you have a draft in that one and you get points based on statistics for each player on your team...birdies, driving, GIR, putting, etc.

Yahoo! fantasy golf is a little more simple than their fantasy football, but it is still fun. You just pick 8 players each week and start 4 players for each round. It's fun and free.

There is a GR fantasy golf league just for fun. I'm playing in another Yahoo! fantasy golf league that has big prizes and it's also free.

I made my own fantasy golf league at PGATOUR.com. I might start another one because it doesn't look like I am going to get full participation in that league...need full participation in those one-on-one matches.

I just mean, he can do things like knock in 9 birdies in 10 holes. But he hasn't been consistant enough, and won't be winning any event by 1 shot until he gets consistant again.

I do think that he is not far away from it though.
