I know what his problem is, I wasn't watching the first three holes because I was out golfing and then went fishing, but as soon as I started to watch, he got his par, and he just hit a pretty good drive

I would love to see him win this one on Father's Day. I am not the biggest Tiger fan but after all he has delt with he really could use the win to help move on.
Are you watching it, Dormie ? Is anyone ? What's going on with him ? 3 straight bogeys to start off ?
Waz, his putter is the biggest problem at the moment. His playing partner 1-putted the first 4 holes, all of the putts from further away than Tiger's par putts were from. On the first hole, his tee shot flew further into the wind than he thought it would and creeped into the first cut of primary rough, then the iron shot came up about 15-20 yards short of the hole in the fairway. The chip shot was mediocre by his standards, but about 6 feet below the hole. The putt HOPPED straight up in the air right when he hit it and it killed the speed. The putt stopped just short of the hole right on line. On the second hole, he hit his tee shot right down the middle, but lost his second shot out to the right due to the wind. His chip then went a little too far and the slope didn't bring it back so he had about an 8 footer downhill. He got scared of the speed and left it short. At the third hole, his tee shot found the middle of the green but his first putt came up about 10 feet short and then he missed that putt (ugly 3-putt bogey from 40 feet). At 4, he missed the fairway just left, then missed with his 2nd shot into the bunker, but flew the bunker shot all the way to the hole and made about a 3 footer for par. Looks like he just birdied the 5th hole in pretty routine fashion (intermediate short rough, GIR, 2-putt).

"This is TTUFirebird reporting live from the US Open at Winged Foot. Back back back back back to you, Chris!"
Wow. Tiger just played #6 like I usually play a short par 4.
Drive to about 30 yards from the pin. Score a bogey.
Did he hit the fairway on that one? It was in between ESPN and NBC's broadcasts so I didn't see it. Phil did something similar earlier, but the green was softer and his ball didn't quite go into the primary rough behind the green. He was able to get it up and down although he hit a really poor pitch by his standards from the fairway.
He drove it about 320 yards to the left rough, just short of the bunker. His chip shot came out really hot and rolled past the pin and off the green, into a pretty deep depression behind the green. His lob wedge couldn't hold and the ball rolled about 15 feet past the pin. He then missed his par putt pretty far to the left and about 3 feet by the hole.
