In pro golf tournaments, how is the weekend cut determined? Is it the same for all tournaments. A coworker of mine said he thinks all the golfers within ten strokes of the leader make the weekend cut. I have tried to find this information on the pga and usga site but have not had any luck.
Top 60s and ties plus anyone within 10 shots of the lead. The 10 shot cut will be at worst +9. As for top 60, who knows. It will probably be around the same.
If the course is getting dry and hard, especially as the day goes on, maybe a lot of guys starting the day at +4 to +6 could shoot +7ish today, moving the cut line.
Masters: Low 44 plus ties plus anyone within 10 strokes of the lead
US Open: Low 60 plus ties plus anyone within 10 strokes of the lead
British Open: Low 70 plus ties plus anyone within 10 strokes of the lead
PGA Championship, Players Championship: Low 70 plus ties
PGA Tour: Low 70 plus ties
