As another weak field on the USPGA Tour convenes(dries out) for the Buick, the romantic looks to France and a stronger field playing in the French Open.
Seve is in the field ,although until he sets foot on the first tee ,do not take it for granted. While Seve maybe past his sell by date as a tournament winner, who would not love to see him produce some magic. Despite renowned character flaws and an inability to find fairways , he still hada short game and imagination to savour.
Oh yeah ! :) I love watching clips of him playing, with golf historians & the like going on about how good..& bad he was lol.Has to be one of my fav's of all time.

when he was in his prime, no one had the imagination of Seve, and he could pull it off too. he's always been a favourite of mine, his nephew Raul is in the field too. one of the strongest fields yet, look out for a strong Miguel Jimenez this time, a few good finishes and all of a sudden he's in with a great chance for the ryder cup squad. Jose Olazabal should be there or abouts too.
How old is Seve? Do you think he'll have any interest in one of the Senior Tours?
That would be great. Seve is 49, but his game has not been in very good shape lately. He wouldn't be competitive on the Champions Tour playing as he has been recently.

I haven't done the math (world rankings) to determine which field is stronger and quite frankly don't care but I wholeheartedly agree with your last statement. It would be great to see the charismatic one make a run once again.
Wonderful gallery of pics! Thank you! The ones of Seve trying to fish a ball out of the water, and Jimenez holding the cigar, are classics! And the Beemer behind Poulter (what I can see) is a pretty sweet car!

Great win for John Bickerton. He's a good friend; good finish from Harrington too.
Seve is planning on playing the Seniors Tour, but not sure which.
After such a long lay-off it will take a while for him to get playing well again.
Looking forward to seeing him again this season, probably at Hoylake.
Bickerton seems like a great guy, kind of a British version of Jason Gore. Definitely handled the pressure there at the end! Harrington continues to be the "bridesmaid", so I expect him to be the "bride" anytime now! Hope he gets over this streak of great play sometime before September!
Today was the first I'd gotten to watch any of the French Open coverage. The course looked great, with challenging pin placements, etc. Sure gave Campbell more than he wanted!
