As regards the difficulty of the course how about this for a description of one of the holes.
Hole 3
405 yards, par 4
This is historically a par-5 for the membership, converted to a par-4 for the women. It’s a long hole
into a prevailing wind, which makes it difficult. There’s a
very narrow landing area, with a bunker set to the left-center of the fairway. The tee shot is very important.
There’s
brutal rough on both sides that’s difficult to get out of,
as with every hole.
If the stimp meter gets up to 12, this is the green where you’ll see a lot of
disaster putting episodes. There’s a
couple pin positions on this green where you cannot stop the ball.
Hmm.
The usga wants to have some more fun.
A score of about +3 will win it, in my opinion.
