Since we are on the verge, and near the eve of this tournament, I thought it would be nice to play up a nice young lady that qualified for the 2006 U.S. Women's Open Championship for her first time ever.
My 16 yr old son Ryan (Jr.) and his friend Scott (Soph), both avid golfers, asked me if I would tell you about her since they are all schoolmates, though in different grades. The boys are rooting for their favorite female golfer, and they both thought GR would be a great place to "tell the world". How sweet is that!
The young lady's name is Joanne Lee. She is a senior at Carlmont High School in San Carlos California.
This is her official U.S. Open Bio...

Well done to Joanne.
At her 3rd attempt, she has qualified, it shows that persistance often pays dividends. She is only 17, so has a great chance of lpga success in years to come.
Hopefully she makes the cut at the US Womens Open. A pair of 76's should do it.
+ 10
If she could take out those 2 holes, of triple and quad bogey, +3 would be a great score.
Both hole 1 and 2 were pretty easy holes, she coped with the difficult holes well and that bodes well.
