With about 9 holes to play there is one American in the top seven players. On American soil. That says a lot for our chances in the Ryder Cup.
At the end of the tourney, the top 20 consisted of 11 Americans, 2 South Africans, 1 Fijian, 3 Australians, 1 Japanese, and 2 Euros! I'd be more concerned about the implications for the Presidents Cup.

What's not to like about Trevor? Actor's good looks, great temperament, class and style, and world-class golfing skills. I suspect we will see much of Trevor over the next, oh, twenty-odd years.

i fancy him to be a major force on the USPGA tour, and i think has plenty enough game to win a major.
A good event is shaping up for tomorrow, with Vijay in the lead and several solid players in between he and the other two big names, Tiger and Furyk, who lie 3 back. Tiger has steadily improved each day...I have a feeling we might see something special from him tomorrow.

Too bad Vijay let this one slip through his hands. I really thought he'd bring it home today. And Jim Furyk? I think he is this generation's Tom Kite. He continually racks up the top tens and swerves so close to winning quite often, yet always seems to bag only one victory a year. Very steady player.
And Tiger? Peter Alliss was cut off before he had the chance to say that Tiger attempts to do too much with his awesome talent. And I agree. That shot at #15 was an excellent example. If Tiger were to shorten his swing...stay more in control...and play a more conservative style, instead of attempting the incredible, he might win 10 tournaments a year. But he may not enjoy himself quite as much, I suppose.
Yes, I would think that as well. He has the overall tools to win a few majors, I'd say. He makes an excellent pick for Royal Liverpool.
i wouldn't pick him for the open this year, as his missus is heavily pregnant and is due to drop in a few weeks i think they said, that will certainly be in his head.

I agree about Tiger. I've been saying for a while now that I think the older he gets, his swing will possibly start slowing down. When it does, his accuracy will go up. And when that happens, his chances of winning go up dramatically each and every time he tees it up.

I'm not suprised at his success at all. I started notice this guy at the Nissan Open at the beginning of the season. He has one of the best swings in golf. He's really put together a nice run starting at the Wachovia Championship. He's living proof that if you stick yourself at the top of the leaderboard consistently that eventually you are going to break through. I trust this is not the last PGA win we'll be seeing from Trevor.

Sorry Donnakay, Didn't intentionally snub you. But I was talking about our upcoming troubles in the Ryder cup. But you bring up a good point, with the rise of good players from S. Africa and Austrailia it doesn't look good for the Presidents Cup either. The U.S. is lacking good players under thirty. With Ryan Moore showing promise but hasn't hit his stride yet. O'Hair and Crane are disapointing so far. Oh Donnakay I enjoy your posts ( lots of thought and wisdom! ).
