I have to go PGA, i watch it every week and only watch the LPGA once a month or so, although am still interested in the ladies results each week.
although i probably favour the European tour over both of em.
I'm not sure TV ratings or fan attendance supports that claim.
It doesn't, but the question, the topic started asked was which would you rather watch.
The lpga majors, with 3 playoffs have been more exciting. The lpga championship was probably the pick of them.
Personally I think normal pga tournaments are boring. The John Deere would be boring, if it wasn't for a certain player.
Then again normal lpga tournaments can be boring as well.
If there was a boring lpga tournament and a boring pga tournament from a golf point of view, I'd rather watch the girls, they look better.
Generally, the PGA - the golf is just better! However, if it's a weekend like the one just past where nobody "exciting" is playing on the PGA and we have a women's major with the likes of Annika, Juli and Michelle in the mix - I'm watching the LPGA.
I think when lpga majors are on, most people will be more interested in them, than the competiting pga tournament, which are usually not of the highest qualify.

it doesnt mean no one exciting was playing just because the world's greatest players (at the moment) wasnt there, i follow all the up and coming stars as well as the world's greatest, and to make it better the player ive been following (J.J. Henry) actually won the buick championship. and i know Camilo will win atleast once before 2008. to me there is never a boring field, what you class as boring fields, may contain a number of top 10 players within the next 5 years.

I think JJ is happy to have his fans supporting him, both of you.
Sorry, no disrespect to JJ but I don't think he will make that many people want to tune in. Good player though.

But unless there are some players who are among the best at this stage, or some other exciting player, it won't attract so many fans.

I am much more likely to watch a minor PGA TOUR event, like the Southern Farm Bureau Classic or Bose Championship at Las Vegas, before even considering tuning in, for even a glimpse, of even the highest ranked LPGA event like a major.
How could anybody in their right mind even compare? The difference is night and day. Just like Women's basketball, Hockey, Baseball and any other sport are usually weak, it applies equally to the LPGA.
How about tennis? There the women are really a match for men as regards ratings and prize money.
Golf could become the same.

BTW, don't take my word for it; ask Michelle Wie what field she wants to be in.
But unlike basketball, hockey & baseball... even tennis, the disparity in talent is not easily discernable in golf, on TV at least. Though the womens' short games aren't generally as good as the mens, it's the distance diasparity that really makes the difference and you cannot tell how far someone has hit the ball on TV unless the commentator tells you.
There are some hotties on the LPGA that are fun to watch but as someone stated before, their games are night and day. I enjoy watching both but given the choice, I would go with the PGA - except this past weekend - I watched the LPGA b/c it was a major with some big names in front - and plenty of hotties.
