Paul Casey

Looks like Paul Casey is over the hump. After his disastrous 2005 (attributable to the furore over his "hatred" comments?) he seems to have roared back into form on the European Tour this year. Two wins and apparently NINE top tens, as well as top 15's at the US Open and the European PGA.

A lock for the Ryder Cup team now, could be formidable come September.

He didn't do so badly on the other side of the pond in his recent outings, unless you consider his performance in the US Open as a failure?

He'll be back on the US Tour eventually - Nike have some money tied up in him for starters.

self-imposed exile to the European Tour.
After the flak he received for comments he did not make, his exile was a wise move.

He never said he hated Americans or called them stupid, so what did you take offense at?

That's just one example of the many articles written on the subject.
League, what Paul Casey said, was repeated after the president's cup by Chris Di Marco and nobody took any notice. It was simply a way of expressing the intense rivalry that existed in the Ryder Cup, which IMO was blown well out of proporsion.

Hey, let's forget this bit. Going over what he said or didn't say is very non-productive.
imo Paul's a very nice guy and is doing well again this week at the European Open at the Palmer Course at the K Club.
A very good omen for us Europeans.

BTW I noticed Tom Lehman getting plenty of support this week from the Irish fans.

He didn't say anything about Americans.
Di Marco said that in the presidents cup there wasn't the hatred like there was in the Ryder cup. I am sure he didn't mean it in that context (like Paul Casey didn't mean it, although he got a lot of flag), and what he was describing was the intense rivarly between the USA and European teams.
By the way, in a recent interview Paul said that most pros were extremely nice about it, and that basically it was the press which made a big deal out of nothing.
