Doesn't she have a belt buckle that says 68 on it or some number she was trying to shoot. This was a while back.
That was at the John Deere in 2005. She shot 70 in round 1 and wore the 68 belt for the 2nd round because it would be likely to make the cut.
She has shot 68 at the Sony twice, but that was -2, so I guess 68 at the John Deere would be better since it would be -3.
Anyway, unless she straightens out her driving, it is damage limitation out there. I'm glad a couple of guys have been curteous enough to shoot worse scores than her.
Mike Springer is +8 with 2 to play.
Mike Spousa is +7 with 5 to play.
Bob May +7 in the clubhouse.

Nice guys.
so what's your guess for what she'll shoot tomorrow?, ill go with 72.
im just glad all this talk with making the cut will be over, until the next time.

Indeed it won't be long to wait, to the Lumber. But even I will probably not predict her to make the cut. It is 7,500 yards which is maybe a bit much.

Round 2, I'll go with 67 or better.
wow, you really think she has a 67 or better in her after today? in her favour is that there is no pressure, against her is the terrible round today might play on her mind a bit.
league and london,
I'm not sure if Michelle has ever had 2 bad rounds back to back.
When she has a problem in a round, she is usually excellent at fixing it, for the next round. Alot of credit to her swing coach.
I think she'll have her driving straightened out.
It's a pretty easy course. Just cause she made a mess of it in the first round, she can still turn it on, when she figures out what she did wrong.
I wouldn't say the pressure is off. I know the cut pressure is off, but every pga round she plays is a big deal. She'll want to go up the leaderboard quite a bit.

it looks like this could be her first 2 bad back to back rounds then.
there is no pressure on making the cut as that isn't likely now and thats where most of her pressure was coming from, theres still pressure on having a respectable score but now the pressure from the cut is off, she is left with the same pressure many golfers are faced with in that situation. its all about how she copes with it tomorrow.
I applaud your ever optimistic support of Wie. Whether she plays well, bad, or in between, we always know where you stand. You're a good sport Rodney_c and when Wie finally wins I want to be the first to congratulate you.
He said wins, and that could be pretty soon on the lpga tour.
wouldn't put any money on it, she could be another Natalie Gulbis. although i think she will win soon, i wouldn't be willing to part with my cash on that bet.

I fully endorse the inclusion of Michelle Wie in any men's Tour event. But let's face the facts she would need her absolute A+ game to match it with the men off the back pegs. The only advantage I see is that it is a great promotion for the relevant event and a great measuring stick when comparing the playing ability of men and women. 10/10 to Michelle to have the courage and commitment to enter these events.

That's certainly true in the case of driving. She could probably get away with mediocre putting if her tee to green game was at it's best.
However, any player bar Tiger, would have struggled in round 1 if they had her driving. She had what 3 penalty drops in the first few holes. She was in trouble in alot of holes throughout the round.

I think more women would need to enter for that to be properly judged.

Agreed, that's one of the biggest reason I am a fan. She's not scared to give it a try, unlike some of her fellow players.
