John Deere - How will Michelle do? POLL.

This is just a poll for opinions on how Michelle will get on at the John Deere Classic.

I am aware many people disagree with her being there, beat the women first etc, but that's not the question here, it's simply how will she get on.

Here are some bookmaker odds:
M Wie to miss the cut 8 - 15
M Wie to make the cut 11 - 8
M Wie to finish in the Top 20 10 - 1
M Wie to finish in the Top 10 18 - 1
M Wie to finish in the Top 5 40 - 1
M Wie to get a hole in one in the Tournament 150 - 1
M Wie to win 200 - 1

you would have to be a fool to bet on those. The only one that is feasible is 11-8 to make the cut and that wouldn't pay anything. The odds should be more like 50-1 on finishing in the top ten and up from there. Thats funny she has a better shot at hitting a hole in one than winning the tourney.

I voted to make the cut but be below the top 50. I hope she makes it, the wife and I will be there on Sat & Sunday, hoping to get to see her.

I guess it could be demorilizing though, seeing a 17yo girl hit it further than me.

Looks like people (from voting rsults) feel she has a decent shot at making the cut, like me.

I think she's got it in her to make it...and frankly, I hope she does. It'd be a nice lead-in to the Open Championship next week to see her make the weekend.

i think she will make the cut on the line, miss by 1 shot or be clear of the cut line by 1 shot. if she makes the cut, i would say she will finish somewhere near the bottom after sunday, but still get a large % of T.V coverage to herself.

Miss the cut by 4-5 strokes. I am not sure if there are any big namers in the field this week but even so I still feel she misses the cut.

i think it will be a bit closer than that mate, but i wouldn't bet against her dropping 3 or 4 shots over the last few holes on friday, nothing to do with history ofcourse.

I would LOVE to see her make the cut on a mens tour event. But in my own opinion, I think she needs to concentrate more right now on winning a tournament on the Ladies tour before playing with the men. I mean she is ONLY 16, she will have plenty of time to make a run at making the cut and possibly contending for a mens tour title. She WILL make her mark on golfing history, but let her do it at her OWN pace. I think she feels ALLOT of pressure maybe from Nike to do something like this. She is so young and has her WHOLE life ahead of her to do GREAT things on the links. Let her at least play a full year on the PGA and maybe winning a title there before trying to beat up on the men. I think for herself more than anything, she needs to prove she can finish and win a tournament against the LPGA before making a run at the mens tour. Just my own $0.02 though.

I started the poll but hadn't actually given my own opinion yet.

I think she will make it, but finish outside the top 50. The reason I base finishing outside the top 50 is the significance of making a first cut makes having a good 3rd round really difficult to do.

I think she will make the cut because she came very close last time, and since then she is a better player. I also think she has got alot of experience at finishing tournaments well. For example at the SK Telecom in making the cut, and at us open local qualifying, and also in the recent womens tournaments.

If she needed to pick up some shots down the stretch to make the cut, like at Sectional, I think that would be a bit much to ask, but if she is inside the cutline I think she can hold on in there.

Yep, just got a feeling this will be the one she makes. Her recent success (playing well all 4 days) on the LPGA may be a signal she can hang on, make the cut, and even have decent weekend scores. Not knowing the complete field, and not caring enough to look it up, I'd say she places between 21 and 50. Now y'all know why I'm not a gambling man!

I think she's playing well enough to sniff the cut. But it's all about nerves. And that has a direct impact on her putting stroke.

Honestly, that's the only reason why she shouldn't make the cut. The rest of her game is about as good as I've seen it.
