I just read that Chris DiMarco's mother passed away last week. Although I don't like his swing, he's a real tough competitor and I hope he wins this one.

You might as well get rodney c's arms and legs too because it looks bad for Wie. She is +6.

There'll be other tournaments.
And of course a 67 or better in the 2nd round.

By the way, if anyone can up with some good excuses I can use for Wie's poor performance in round 1, that would be appreciated.

i have backed Axley before, well the pen chose him (i sometimes use a pen to decide my 1 outside bet, run it up and down the computer screen etc... )
he was 500/1 and he went on a birdie run in the 3rd round (he shot mid 60s) putting himself right incontention and then shot a 78 or something on sunday. as to why he is your man this week, i dont know.

That's not an excuse.

Not bad, but I think there was something about her wrist being sore. That's a bit better maybe.
I flicked on the tv and some guy was saying something about fatigue. That's probably a good excuse.

Yep your right....it is the truth. Annika could not do it on a short course and she is way better then Wie....the simple answer is Mars vs. Venus.

Guys, you are a bit premature in you assessments.

I have not claimed that she would be able to compete on the pga tour at 16, I have simply maintained that she should be given the opportunity, just as Tiger was.

She will improve and will compete. I am not in a rush for her to make a cut. As long as her game keeps improving that is the main thing. I don't judge her game on one round, I judge it on a season, and the season has been very good so far. She has done well in both mens and womens events.

By the way Tiger's 5th pga attempt:
Nestle Invitational, 80, 77.
He was 18 at that stage.

That puts it in context.

That pick to win is off to a great start. And Zach could really use it. He's definitely going to be on the Ryder Cup team and an impressive victory would be good for his state-of-mind.

Ryan is also playing well of late. I look for him to be in the thick of it come Sunday afternoon.

David Duval is at -3 -- he was at -5 but doubled the last hole - I am rooting for him!

Somewhere along the line you said something to the effect that any PGA Tour card carrying golfer should beat Wie and I promised to pick one for you @ the John Deere. Axley is who I chose.

Eric Axley -2

Michelle Wie +6

.....me and my promises.

How's this - She's playing golf! Anyone who has ever played golf will know what I mean.
