The crowds probably won't be a problem as much, but I always thought it was fun picking a group and following them.

I just merged these two threads...I believe this was the 'help' he was looking for.

I'd kinda like to get a look at a few guys teeing off, as well as seeing them maybe make a few putts...ya know, take everything in. Maybe after you wander around and see some of your faves for a while, get to one of the par 3s on the inner nine, preferably the shorter one, and get as close to the green as you can. At the tournament I attended, I was fortunate enough to be no more than 10 feet from the green's edge on one par 3 and taking in the action was fun. If the crowds are sparse enough, you can probably follow one of "your guys" for as much of the round as you wish without any problems...pace of play isn't an issue for spectators of Tour events.

Also, I'd recommend spending a little while at the driving range. Just watching how consistent these guys are when they hit balls on the range is jaw-dropping.

Definitely a cool idea - I never even thought of it when I went to the Buick 2 years ago.

Spend some time at the driving range. It is amazing how accurate these guys are. Every shot seems to follow the same path/trajectory.

Tuesday and Wednesday are good days for autographs in some impromptu conversations with the players and/or caddies.

Get a tee sheet and a course map. Circle the players you want to watch with a pen. It'll help you find them on the course.

Par 3's are fun to sit at with friends and make bets on each group by picking the player who will be closest. Loser goes and get the next round, etc.

Hackblack and Stl Card got it right. Driving range is fascinating. Also get the map of the course and maybe look for a spot where you can see more than one hole. I'm not familiar with Atunyote, but saw a bit of the PGA professionals' tourney there and the course looks fairly open, so there may be some nice spots where you can watch play on several holes. Find the quickest routes between the holes you'd most like to see them play.
