How could it possibly mean that? Monty and Harrington have both already attempted to win many majors.

Monty was one good shot away from the US Open title. It was his first time in that situation. He will finish the job, the next opportunity he gets.
Monty for the win.

I don't know much about Royal Liverpool, so it's hard to guess. But it sounds pretty easy. Weather says breezy conditions with some rain in the forecast. So it won't be the perfect conditions like St. Andrews of 1990 and 2000. But it still should give up some low scores.

The difference between now and the 1960's on this course is not so much the length but the speed and hardness of the greens, some players were talking about how to bounce and roll the ball up the front of a green. It's going to be a tactical course that does not especially favor the "bombers" - think twice about driver and think twice about going for the greens on the par-5's because they are heavily guarded with not much margin of error. There are tons of out-of-bounds areas and the letters "OB" should strike fear in their hearts. There were some rumors about Tiger planning to hit long irons off of certain tees, if true he has the right idea.

yep, thats the problem with all the new bomber's, they don't know any other way and will go for everything like always. i would really like J.B. in particular to do well, but i think he only knows one way and obviously that is attacking golf, i should hope that he uses his head and take's out long irons or shorter woods from the tee, but i cannot see it.

Looking at the weather forecast, Thursday is the day where conditions will be at their worst. Rain and wind is expected for the first round. After that, it gets more and more calm each day after that. If you see 67s and 68s fired tomorrow, then this course could give up a record low score. I don't like the 4 par-5s, all which are reachable, and two of the last 3 holes are par-5s. I like tough finishes, not easy ones.

There could well be thunderstorms during the first round.
If there is alot of rain, how will that affect the course?
Everyone is talking about the dry course and all the roll and how difficult it is to stop the ball, and how they will be playing it on the ground. Could there be enough rain to put a signicant change to that?

i dont think there will be a lot of rain, but if there is then that will give the course up a bit, a lot of links courses rely on windy conditions and fast greens and fairways, take away that for 4 days (obviously its not gonna be raining and no wind for 4 days, and if its only thursday then by sunday the greens will cause trouble again) and your gonna see a very low score. i dont know what times its due to rain, but if its in the morning and stops before the afternoon, then atleast 1 of the afternoon starters will tear it apart.
