He got rid of the HiBore and is hitting the Cleveland CompTi again. Personally, I think he was more successful when he was hitting the R7 in 2004. He should switch.
Yeah, espcially when he was on tv touting how he was hitting it longer and straighter than before with the Hi Bore
I personally think driver technology might be going backwards now. Not just for Vijay, but look at Tiger's driving average since switching to the Sasquatch compared with the Ignite. These guys are on TV claiming these new drivers are the longest drivers they've ever hit, but when you look at the stats it shows that they're actually not gaining any yardage (and I know in Tiger's case he's gone backwards quite a bit). I've got a 2 to 3 year old Taylor Made R580XD and I wouldn't be surprised if the technology is just as good (distance wise) as the newest R7 460. Mine is 440 cc, and I actually heard when the original R7 came out it was shorter (but straighter) than the R580XD. Technology has basically hit the ceiling at this point (at least LEGALLY anyway).
VJ did go back to the launcher b/c he's been all over the course with the Hi-bore - left, right, but not one side consistantly. I think he's still using the HI-bore metals though.

I believe in Tiger's case, the distance loss is more due to the shaft than the head. He was playing that BiMatrix-like shaft with the steel tip for more control, and it cost him some yards. Also, late summer brings an increase in driving distance so look for him to pick up some yardage at the Buick and beyond.
