There's always that sense of excitement the day before a major...much like prior to Openind Day and the start of the playoffs in baseball, prior to a playoff game in football, or the start of the NCAA Tourney or the big bowl games in college football in January. I can't wait for the action to start and wish I could follow more of it!
I get really excited, but it's going to be tough for me to follow the Open because of time zones. It's on at like 3am over here. I watch them when ever I can, I've even been known to video a whole day.
I probably fall somewhere between the first 2 options. This one is tougher than the others because of the time difference. I watch whatever highlights I can Thursday and Friday. It is nice to roll out of bed on the weekend and be able to immediately start watching the leaders, though.
I get really excited about The Open Championship and the Ryder Cup. The Open is commercial/advert free , so Peter Alliss can ramble on and on and on...which is what I really enjoy !
Sam Torrance is also very good , and Ken Brown has a fantastic subtle sense humour too !
Although after Sunday, when I`ve been glued to those events non-stop for days... suddenly the real world arrives like a freight train on Monday !
The only thing I can get even remotely excited about are the Ryder Cup and President Cup matches. Most of the other majors, with the exception of the Masters, seem to be won by one win wonders in recent years.
I'll watch a good portion of it during the weekend but on thrus and fri I dont watch much. The only part I get really excited about is sunday afternoon because there is usaul 10 guys with in 2 strokes of each other that could win.

I like this sentiment. I get very excited about the majors. For the British, I'm waking up extra early, French-pressing a cup or two of freshly ground quality coffee and I'll watch the first two hours of TV coverage. I'll tape the rest and avoid the radio or TV until I get home to watch the rest of it.
yep i get excited for The Open and The Masters, the other two i still watch all the T.V. coverage, but i dont feel that same excitement for the U.S. Open and PGA.
haha my girlfriend thinks im a loser too, honey want to do lunch tomorrow?, are you kidding Tiger has the afternoon tee time, she just laughed and came over anyway

My wife, who normally would rather have a root-canal than watch golf, will watch Tiger. I'd be jealous but the truth is, I'd watch Elin Nordegren-Woods if she was doing a cooking show, so I guess it's only fair.
