...you get 1/4 odds of a listed player for a first 5 finish before the Championship starts ! Then it usually reduces to 1/4 of the odds for a first 4 finish once it starts !
S.Appleby 40/1, J-M Olazabal 50/1, B.Langer 150/1, Khan 200/1 and rising star A.Romero 200/1...All look good `first five` players !
This is an `in-running` event, so a price should be available on the leading golfers for all four days! It`s interesting watching the prices fluctuate, even if you don`t have a punt/flutter !
For example Edfors was 125/1 on Sunday morning, before he teed off....and subsequently won at Loch Lomond, at the last European event !

Yeh the odds fascinate me as well. Some of the odds are so tempting for so many players. I tend to wait now until the first round is played, from there I have a better feel for form and conditions. Rumors here suggest Tiger's caddie has stacked a small fortune on him to WIN. Another one going around is Aussie Bradley Hughes may be a bit of a 'smokey' . Let's wait and see how it all unfolds. Good luck.

Tote are offering the best odds on most of the players this week, i only use Tote, William Hill and Ladbrokes, and on most of the outsiders, Tote was offering far better odds.
Luke Donald to win....I think this guy's ready. It's in England. He's playing really well. If there's a Euro that's going to win, this is it.
Goosen and Els in top 10....I think I bet Goose to finish in the top 10 in every major and win 9 times out of 10. Both were in a slump, but both last week showed signs of coming out of it with a decent week. Retief hasn't finished outside of a top-10 in the British since 2000.
Hole in One.....It's worth the 3/1 odds. Especially on a course that's as easy as this one.

london_geeza, I don`t use the tote & betfair etc because they don`t do yankees, canadians , trixies and patents etc ! Although, if purely outrights appeal, then the tote and betfair provide much better odds as you say !
Anyhow, I like to follow the stats, to see if any anomalies happen. Looking at the willhill site, odd....oddities turn up ! For example , right now Fred Funk is 125/1 and is 3 under par ! This course, and the way it`s playing lengthwise would suit Fred I would have thought, far more so than the other Majors. That represents over 30/1 for finishing fifth ! I rate him higher than they do !
Then Tom Lehman is 100/1 ,and he`s been playing well lately, and one of my favourites A.Romero is 125/1. It just goes to show, that if Tiger has a good round...the bookies disregard everyone else`s chances....!
Have a look at the site, and see if you too see similar oddities price wise, after round one !
Forgot to add - Morning tee times are usually the calmist time to play links golf ! Which puts Tiger in a good position as he`s played his late tee time already. So the best odds/weighting has to come from other players who are also starting early tomorrow, but are currently highly priced.

Well, my bet on Ernie and Goose is looking good. After all, Goose hasn't finished outside of the top-10 it the British since Clinton was in office. But Luke, oh Luke. What happened to thee? Still crossing my fingers for the hole-in-one. Too bad they couldn't count Tigers shot as a hole in one.
