The start of the Open was delayed by half an hour this morning, due to the rain overnight. Conditions should be more conducive to scoring thanks to more receptive greens, while with temperatures a bit lower than in the practice rounds players should be more comfortable.
However the change in course conditions could cause a few problems to players who have only payled Hoylake in the last week.

yep, hopefully not too much more interuptions during the day.
Mickelson is doing well at the moment. -3 at the 8th.
Daly is -1 at the 9th.
the lead will be -6 or -7 by the end of the day (which i believe would set a new course record), most likely one of the earlier starters, so maybe its Mickelson.

Els, Weir, Garcia all in at -4. Phil has some holes left though, could easily see a 66 today

yep its too bunched up at the moment, someone will pull away by the end of the day, Greg Owen is in the lead and in the clubhosue at -5. plenty on -4 and most finished, so its gonna be tight at the end of the day, but i can see someone shooting a 66 or 65.
very good player from Northern Ireland, you'll find him near the top of the leaderboard on quite a few occasions on the European tour over the past couple of years, its all about whether he can hang on to it or not.
EDIT - he has played a few PGA tour events aswell.
