The Golf Rewind Open Pick Em Final Standings

Below are the standings for our Open Pick Em Contest after the first round. Only 4 out of 38 are over par which tells us all we need to know about the difficulty of the course. HarleyGuy & leftyfan are off to nice start, though its still pretty bunched up and MCs after tomorrow will take their usual toll on some. Jarvy5, kevan & gpickypick(twice) were stuck with Quigley's 79 for picking only 9 selections, picking Leonard ... & picking Leonard and Immelman(both not playing) repectively.

dont remind me of Quigley's 79, but it wasn't the highest score of the day.
oh well anyone can still win this thing, although i aint sitting pretty in the bottom half of the table.

I'm right there with you london_geeza. I assigned the highest score of any player selected for this contest(Quigley) as a "dummy" score to the 3 that had issues with their picks. I'll do the same tomorrow. On the weekend they, as well as all MCs, will get the highest score posted each day by any player. Oh and a special "Tip of the Hat" to Anthony792 for hitting the numerical portion of his username "in the box" (729). Your check is in the mail.

Some of the biggest surprises were Paddy, Howell, Donald and Monty, who amongst them, were picked by more that half to win and will struggle to make the cut.

Donald and Howell wasnt really a surprise to me, if they make the cut they will finish on the bottom half come sunday, Monty isn't a surprise to me either.
Harrington is a surprise, i expected good things from him this week.

Why do you think that? All were touted very highly. Monty has two 2nds in his last 4 majors including last years Open. The other 3 were expected by many to be ready for a Major breakthrough... especially in the UK. What do you know that we don't about this london geeza ? BTW, if you'd a just asked I'd a told you that Dana Quigley woulda had a better shot than Brett.

Paddy Harrington, Howell and Donald destroyed me...take them away and I might stand a decent chance at a top 10 finish for a change.

i just never expected much from Howell and Donald, theyve never really made it on Links courses, dont ask me why as you would think they would play well and history doesn't mean a lot but the stats speak for themself, Monty maybe could of done better, i think he will make the cut but finish near the bottom on the weekend, dont ask why i just had a feeling not to expect much.

The below players (selected in the GR Open) have finished the 2nd round and will MC.
Baddeley Love III Poulter Henry Edfors Leonard Ferrie Dougherty Faldo McGinley Katayama Cink Immelman

These players are on the course and are below the cut line:
Quigley 7 Johnson 6
Andrade 5 Harrington 4
Curtis 3 Langer 3
Howell 3 Appleby 3
HERRON 3 Oberholser 2
Montgomerie 2 Couples 2
Holmes 2 Daly 2
Choi 2 Ballesteros 2
Elkington 1 Hamilton 1
O’Hern 0 Fasth 0
Singh 0

If the GR Open had a cutline, I'd be under it.
I had 5 players MC: Harrington Cink Couples Johnson Poulter

Only 8 back... so far I'd say I'm in a pretty good position.

OK never mind about that, I'm looking over the leaderboard... Singh and Couples better get their acts together if they're gonna be any help. There are a couple of other picks to that... ugh. What happened to Harrington?!?!
