Chris DiMarco.

i loved his interviews this week, he handled them very well when asked about his mother's death, he couldn't speak enough about feeling her presence and looking over him and giving him inspiration etc..., i loved that in him, he didn't show no real emotion as he knew she was there with him. that is one very tough character there, hopefully a few weeks off now for him.

Indeed...impressive golf this week for Chris. I wish him the best in dealing with the loss of his mother and on the course for the rest of the year. He's a tough competitor, and he'll win one of these eventually.

It's also nice to know this practically guarantees his spot on the Ryder Cup Tream, which is something he really wanted, almost as much as a major win. The way he putts, he is always a welcome addition to the US team!

Exactly...besides Tiger, he's the guy I'd most want out in the last match on Sunday with the Cup on the line...and he might be the guy the Europeans would fear most in that position! Great to see that he's likely to make it.

If this second-place major finish doesn't give him enough points, Lehman would be an idiot not to make him a captain's pick!

He would be an idiot not to take him anyway. Even though he's a Gator, I've got to give him props. The man has chops when it comes to pressure situations.

Being a Gator has to be qualification enough all by itself!

Doesn't the K Club course have quite a bit of water? He'd be right at home I guess...besides, there are no Noles to lose to on the European team.

"Noles" and "lose" are being used together more and more these days, many times as the only two words in the sentence!!

Unfortunately you're right. Problem is, the Gators haven't been faring too well themselves lately. I fancy a title coming soon for one of us though with the young talent in Tallahassee and Gainsville now, though.

For DiMarco, his third runner-up finish in the last eight majors came with a consolation prize. He earned enough Ryder Cup points to move from No. 21 to No. 6 in the standings, virtually making him a lock to be on the U.S. team in Ireland two months from now.

I like Di Marco a lot more after this years open, he was very emotional and his golf was superb, he seems like a really nice guy.

yep, ive never really been a huge fan of his, but the way he went about business and his interviews have made me like him a lot more, i have wanted him to win before but never really cared if he pulled it off or not, but this time i was cheering his every putt. a very strong character, he seems to be coping with the loss, seems to me aslong as he knows shes up there looking down on him then that is what matters, it takes a strong man to do that.
