Haha...the funniest thing is that TTU's statement that Phil woulda locked the POY up had he won at Winged Foot would have only been proven false later on in the season. Imagine winning 4 times, including 2 majors in a season and being completely blown away by someone else for POY?

i think things would've been a lot closer had Phil won the US Open. it's fairly obvious that since that tournament Phil has put up some pretty poor rounds and the fact that he threw away the tournament has messed with his head. i think Tiger would still be playing some quality golf but Phil wouldn't have bowed out the way he did.

Phil has "only" won 2 times this year. Winged Foot would give him 3. Either way though, Tiger's season would still blow him out of the water although I do think that Phil would have played better after the U.S. Open if you know what had not happened.

For some reason, I always get it stuck in my head that he's won 3 times this year. Perhaps because that 13 shot win at the Bellsouth just seems like it was two separate wins?

Tiger has won 4 times as many tournaments as Phil worldwide this year and double the majors.

let's talk about Most Improved or Comeback Player or Rookie of the Year (something we can debate).
I take it you mean you are not a fan b/c he constantly has a stranglehold on the Tour and it removes all the drama? Granted, that is very true. It isn't so much I am a Tiger fan, (I am, but I don't root against any player except Mark -'no caddy deserves to make $200k a year' O'Meara) but I enjoy watching true greatness in action. Also, I like witnessing sports history being made. I'm hoping like crazy he wins 19 majors and 83 career titles and I can watch him do it.
Your other line: Comeback Player...How about Shaun Micheel?
Rookie: Villegas (spelling?)

Agreed. The only other person with a remote...(yes, remote) chance is Brett Wetterich..

Yeah I'd agree with that. Had Ogilvy not won 2 really prestigious tournaments, Wetterich would be the guy in my opinion.
