Yes i know im strange. Anyways i think it would be cool as heck if Tiger were to one day build a golf course in his hometown or near Stanford like Jack did near his hometown. Tiger would call his course HOYLAKE after his third British win. They have has such parallel careers that i think it would be terrific. Jack won twice at St Andrews and then at Muirfield and now Tiger has 2 at St Andrews and one at Hoylake. Jack built Muirfield in homage to Bobby's Augusta and i think it would be so fitting for Tigers third British at Hoylake to become a course itself and homage to Jack. Obviously Tiger could have a lake put in on the course or find a piece of land in California that already has a lake to built this on. Of course this would only happen if Tiger gets into course architecture and you would assume he will to some extent one day. Nothing better than having a course in or near your hometown like Jack does at Murifield and call it HOYLAKE.Heck they could even hold his event(in december) there and maybe that event would become a regular tour event down the road. Just a crazy ideal that i think would be very cool.
Lately, I've also been thinking that designing a course ---course architecture---would be one of the "next steps" for Tiger. It would be another way to put his imprint upon the game. I would be more surprised if he didn't design and build a few courses before his career is over. Jack, Arnie, Fred Couples, just to name a few have done so as well as a host of others. I would certainly think that Eldrick will likley do so as well.
If I know Tiger though (I don't of, course), he will design and build something that is "different" or take a "different" approach-----maybe a course that is very unique in design but certainly very accessible to the public and affordable to the average guy and especially kids.*
No, I don't know how you would blend "uniqueness, a quality golf experience and affordability", but I figure if anyone could marshall the forces to produce such an "animal" that it would be Tiger.
-----------------------
*Man, that would be a change---not like some other recently designed courses. Donald Trump, for example, has built several courses that appear to be really nice..but who, besides The Donald can afford the greens fees?
Tiger himself has said that he might get into designing courses someday, but at this time, he's not really looking at it. I think, perhaps, that once his playing days are winding down, we might see him design a few, and I'm sure he'll produce a few gems like Jack has.
I personally hope that Tiger doesn't get into building courses, simply because I know if he does they'll be $150 or more to play 18 on them, or private to where the average joe can't get a glimpse anyway.

I'm sure plenty of people would love to jump on board and help out with whatever start-up capital would be needed. It's tiger wood's golf course. tons of people would want to go, even if it was just so-so.
Even Tiger might have trouble coming up with the cash needed to buy 18 holes worth of real estate in Palo Alto, CA.
i bet his wife doesnt feel that pain with the 20 million dollar yacht they live on, and besides all he needs is burnt grass, pot bunkers, and a bunch of hard bumps

Why would he put it in Palo Alto? Stanford has a really nice course as it is and there are a lot of very nice courses in the Bay Area and going south down to Monterey. By the time he gets into course design (assuming he does after he retires from the game) it is highly unlikely that money will be an issue.
Besides Jack and most of the other course designers don't buy the land outright. They typically partner with a consortium of wealthy investors to finance the project. Should Tiger follow suit you can bet that his connections to J.P. McManus and Dermot Desmond will pay off.
