That's the truth. I flipped on the Golf channel the other night and it was the Play Lesson w/ John Daly. The guy couldn't hit a shot where he wanted to save his life. He would try to hit a tee shot to a spot and it would sail 20 yards right, into the rough. His next shot missed the green, wide right, his bladed his chip past the hole and then I think he 3 putted. He didn't even acknowledge the fact that he just completely looked like an amateur on television. I was almost embarassed for the guy. I still like him, but I don't understand him a bit.

I got all hissy because i mean, who are you guys to criticize him. He's made it a lot farther than us. He isnt where he is today by being a bad golfer and/or person that you have made him out to be. He's not a bad guy, he's just made some stupid decisions in his life and he knows it.

No. He's been banned by most of the houses around here as a danger to himself and others. Most have his picture up and a few have resorted to restraining orders.

Who are we to talk about anyone then? Let's just shut the forum down. No one here broke any rules or made up any wild stories about him, so I don't see the point in jumping someone who doesn't share your enthusiasm for him.

FWIW, it's not the decisions in his life that turn me off...it's the fact that he's flat out refused to help himself turn around from those decisions, even going so far as to deny that he ever had any problems at all. Doesn't sound like he "knows it" to me.

JD hasnt a hope of making the Ryder Cup team. As an Irishman i would love to see him over here. I would imagine for the practice days he'd be good for the US team, his presence would be great for team morale & he'd win the crowd over like he always does, when he's in a good mood. On the Friday put him in the 4balls & he might win his match, with big smiles & high fives all round. But I cant help thinking as the pressure mounts, JD would start to wilt & his game would disintegrate like unfortunatley it so often does. Anyway he hasnt a prayer of making it so sorry this post is irrelevant!

I hope not...if he were to earn his way onto the team, I'd have no problem, but using a captain's pick on a guy with as many question marks as him would be a huge gamble.

I'd be shocked if JD gets selected for the Rider Cup team. There are several players who I think deserves to be in Rider Cup team than JD.

I like JD, but I can't see how he would help the team... not the way he's been playing lately. The guy is fun to watch but he can't be trusted to be ready and put forth his best effort.

Why can't he learn to just learn to hit a 2-iron or 3-wood every once in a while rather than banging drivers? You'd think he would learn.

I don't. Maybe he will retire and quit embarrassing himself.
