A little side bet between me and you, no money involved.
I bet Wie will be ahead of Juli Inkster after 4 rounds. Deal?
i would take that bet anyday. Wie struggles and places outside the top 20, Inkster comes inside the top 10, maybe top 5.

You're on. I need to start thinking about a signature tagline for myself as a constant reminder to you for this rash move. We're thinking of the same Juli Inkster right ? Hall of Famer ? Multiple major winner ? Still top 10 in the world ? A winner this year ? That Juli Inkster ?

you forgot to mention that she is leading the (women's) Open at this point too.
she is gonna be hard to beat by anyone, especially someone who is in Wie's position at the moment.

yes, because that would be withdrawing under false pretenses.

Because Tiger Woods has not shot anybody so why discuss it. Wie has not withdrawn from an event due to being behind, so why discuss it.

What's completely true? If Tiger withdrew from an event, and someone said he was pretending to be sick, there would be tonnes of people kicking up a fuss.

Who's jumping on your back. Sorry if you thought I was, but I'm simply wondering why you would be sticking up for a guy who accused her of pretending to be sick, and then bringing guys who fixed horseraces into it.

Anyway, as far as I am concerned the discussion is closed. You weren't the one who brought it up and I acknowledge that.

^^^ I highly doubt your winning that bet, 8 shots and a lot of ground to cover, I think Michelle's confidence is pretty shot and Inkster is striking the ball really nicely, although your confndence might outweigh hers any day

Juli has 8 top 10s in 15 starts with a win and just over a million dollars so far this year, a career slam with 7 majors total. 74 is her high round all year. She's also likely more accustomed to the conditions over there than Michelle. 8 strokes over 3 rounds and I'd take Inkster over any woman anywhere.

Fair comments about Julie. She has had a great success and is having a very good season so far.
Michelle started the 2005 British Open with a round of 75 and got a 3rd place. Don't count her out yet.

YET?, I think i did that at least 3 days ago. She has just validated my opinion, with her first round, that she wouldnt do well on a Links course with the weather

My thoughts, too. I don't know what Wie's experience is on a course like this, in the conditions that are likely. But I know Inkster and a few others are familiar with them.

For all I know, some Euro player we don't hear much about here in the U.S. could sneak in and surprise us all. The top of the leaderboard is full of unfamiliar names (unfamiliar to me). I have a feeling there are a lot of European women's tour players who are just as talented as anyone on the LPGA, but they don't play LPGA events very often.

ok mate, fair enough. infact i agree with a lot of things you say (but you do go over the top sometimes when Wie in involved), but it isn't cheating by withdrawing under false pretenses, its simply bad sportswomanship , which is why i mentioned Mccoy and Fallon (not the race fixing, but dropping out when they havent a chance of winning but a good chance of a place, all they want is a win as a place doesn't do much for them, yep that has nothing to do with someone withdrawing cause they have no chance, but its a similar situation), i wasn't sticking up for the man, i just disagreed it was cheating (to me cheating is something someone does (most of the time illegally) to improve there chances). that is all i was getting at really, wasn't sticking up for no one or wasn't really against anyone.

I don't know Rodney but based on his posts (concerning Wie), it doesn't appear to be the case of "obsession", rather his belief of her talent and most likely is basing his opinion on her finishes in the pro tour (since she plays, men, and asian tour, along with LPGA). He obviously believes she is a great player, which to a certain extent, I do agree.

Maybe if she concentrated on ONE tour she would win a tournament.

You want her to play only 8 tournaments a year? That's the max that the LPGA will allow a 16 year old to play. What is she supposed to do the other 44 weeks of the year and how would this improve her golf game?
