Juli would be the oldest woman to win a major if she holds on
Beward of the bogeys.
- Meg Mallon, triple bogey.
- Pat Hurst, quad bogey.
- Karrie Webb, quin-bogey (+5), and a triple. Also she dropped 8 shots in 3 holes.
- Karin Sjodin, quad bogey.
- Mi Hyun Kim, triple bogey, and 3 doubles.
- Morgan Pressel, a quad, followed by a triple on 17 & 18, 7 shots dropped in 2 holes.
- Hee-Won Han, a quad bogey.
- Christie Kerr, a triple and 2 doubles.
- Annika 2 double bogeys.
- Silvia Cavalleri, from being joint with Juli at 6 under, she tripled hole 17, to drop 3 shots.
That's just a few of the big names that I clicked on. That course is really dangerous, Juli could not only lose the lead, but lose contention within a 3 hole stretch.
Also, NOTE: Clicking on alot of those scorecards, holes 17 and 18 moreso are littlered with quads and triples.
I feel sorry for fans of the leaders coming down the stretch, because there could be a huge swing.
Se Ri Pak 78 and withdrew.
Dorothy Delasin +20, 82, 82. Wasn't she leading a major recently enough?
Meg Mallon +15 Karrie Webb +14, 76, 82
Aree Song +13
Gloria Park +12
Carin Koch +12
Karin Sjodin +11
Suzann Pettersen +11
Virada Nirapathpongporn +11
Michele Redman +9 Mi Hyun Kim +9 Pat Hurst +9
Birdie Kim +8
Brittany Lang +8
Juli Inkster...she's rock solid so far and I expect she'll play well enough to hold off Annika on the weekend.
That's the way I see it playing out.
Pretty amazing at 46, eh?
Speaking about old timers, how about 49 y.o. Beth Daniel at T13! Where did that come from? Nice to Davies good play continue as well. This like watching the Masters, all these veterans being right there.
So IIRC, with a win this week, Inkster will have the career grand slam, eight total, and along with Karrie Webb, be one of two players to win all five of the modern majors (including the defunct du Maurier).
Pretty awesome stuff, hope she hangs on. Have a feeling she is going to have to keep up her great play, because you know at least one player out of Stuples, Annika, Laura, Paula, Sophia, et al, is going to take a run at her. Also nice to see Candie Kung play well again, she has been in a bit of a funk this year.
What a shame there is no live coverage this morning. At least a dozen proven contenders battling it out with 3-4 shots of each other, and all we get is an hour and a half tape delay in the afternoon.

There is full live coverage where I am, but you'd have to be close to a tv to watch it.
- Michelle Wie to shoot 64 or thereabouts.
- High scores from Lorena Ochoa, Christie Kerr, Natalie Gulbis and Beth Daniel.
- Sherri Steinhauer to blow up on the back 9 and have some doubles and/or triples.
- Candie Kung to take the title. By the way, the bookies are giving odds of about 33-1 on her. She will beat Sophie Gustafson in a close run thing. Candie will ease away from about hole 14 or so to take the title.
- Annika Sorenstam to have a run at it, but too little too late for her.
