Peter Kostis would never make the kind of off color remark that you suggested. He is far too proper for that - just listen to him - now David Ferety might say it, but not Kostis. Again, in regards to the comment Kostis did make, it was simply a question of whether or not a family would take precendence over golf - my family(as most peoples do) certainly comes before anything else - and that is not a question, or a ponderance, that is out of line whatsoever.

I was surprised to read in that article that Tiger kinda blew off David Feherty. I thought they were tight. Feherty seems like a cool guy, has played the game at a very high level (former Ryder Cupper), and I think Tiger respects that.

Can anyone name people in the media that Tiger really likes? Two that come to mind for me are Scott VanPelt of ESPN, and Kelly Tilghman of the Golf Channel.

Tiger will always have things said good and bad about him. I guess my bottom line is i like him and i respect him and i dont sense any arrogance. He is quite humble for 11 majors and 50 wins a beautiful wife and tons of money and always talks about others with respect and humility. Knows his golf history and respects the past and the current guys. If he wants to get mad at Kostis who am i to say he cannot. I got mad at my neighbor for giving me greif over my schnauzer and gave her the cold shoulder so i guess im an arrogant immature guy. Oh well we cannot please everyone and Tiger will definately in the public eye never please everyone. Ive been very impressed in how well he handles most things. And in my opinion some people who matter like Gary Player,Nicklaus,Arnold and a host of others marvel at how well he lives in the fish bowl that he does. But just like the arguement of whetehr hes better than Jack we will always have people who dont like Tiger for this or that and we will have people who dont like Phil for this or that. When it all boils down to it both guys are good people and have big hearts and are under intense scrutiny. I guess until you are in their shoes you will never really know. I respect him and i like what the man stands for.

I'm pretty sure he's "friends" (as much as you can be in a media-celebrity relationship) with the AP golf writer, Doug Ferguson (I think that's his name?). Ferguson usually follows Tiger during his rounds and that's why in golf recaps from the AP, it'll focus quite a bit on Tiger even if he has a bad round.

Very well said, TOJ. I think Tiger is a pretty humble guy all things considered. Compared to athletes of LOWER STATURE like Allen Iverson or Terrell Owens, Tiger is about as humble as you'll find for a superstar celebrity. He's a lot more humble than many movie stars out there of similar fame. He gives a ton of respect to his current rivals and even more respect to the greats of the game that inspired him so much. In many ways, he's very similar to Michael Jordan (who definitely had an arrogant streak in him like Tiger does), but overall they do their best to treat others with respect.

When I was a kid I would tremble when listening to the ballgame and Ted Williams would come to bat. I met him in 1991 and shook hands with him and never even thought about an autograph! I guess time changes everything.
