Greg was her first proper caddie. She had some other caddies for an event here and there as an amateur, as well as having BJ on the bag in some events.

Some people are discussing Wie's swing, some are discussing her putting.

I think the problem is her length. She is getting longer and longer off the tee, which suggests that she is working out quite a bit and gaining additional strength. Maybe that is putting off her iron and wedge game a bit, because she is having to adjust to her new strength! Just a theory.

Wow, Wie's 108 yards longer than Pressel (on just those holes of course ). Is Pressel (after finishing worse than Wie in every tourney this year) still mouthing off that she deserves all the attention and Wie doesn't?

I don't think she ever "mouthed off" that she deserves all the attention and Wie doesn't. Perhaps that the attention should be paid to people who win...?

This suggestion always irks the Wie crowd.

No, I'm not joking. I'm not saying that she needs to completely rebuild her swing, but some tweaks could make it a little easier for her. I seem to remember that someone else rebuilt their swing as well and the world said, "You're joking, right?" I guess Tiger needed more experience as well huh?

I do think she chokes, I do think her putting stinks, I do think she lacks a killer instinct - but her swing's just fine. Also agreed that she just needs more experience.

P.S. Best scoring average don't mean jack.

It's not that hard, and it is the right thing to do.
I even thought the statement she released (or whoever wrote it for her) made no sense at all. Just a pile of words.

Saw that on the Golf Channel right at the top last night.

The thing that slays me is that it came from "a PR firm in New York." I sure hope BJ is aware that if his daughter doesn't become a regular on the PGA Tour (she won't) or start winning left and right on the LPGA Tour (she very well might) within the next, say, 3 to 4 years, that the $10 mil they squeezed out of Sony and Nike is going to be the only $10 mil they are going to squeeze out of Sony and Nike. Because $10 mil ain't enough to be buying homes in California and Hawaii and hiring PR firms in New York to put out news releases that any 10th grader could write.

mr,
She's made about 18 million so far. The 10 million was only for initial contracts.

By the way on your timetable of 3 or 4 years for becoming a pga tour regular, even the sponsors wouldn't expect that.

She actually intends to start trying for q-school when she is about 20 or so.
If she is doing okay in pga events at that stage, and okay means either making 70% of cuts OR, making 40+% of cuts and getting some placings in the top 30 or 40, then that would be huge in terms of a story and in terms of continued endorsements.

Off Topic.

There was putt statistics and Annika did well in that but that was a bit misleading. So I just wanted to give Annika's putts per round:

R1 29 putts
R2 25 putts
R3 29 putts
R4 36 putts

I think that gives a more accurate picture of Annika's putting at that event.

Gee you'd think that this was the 1st time anyone dumped a caddie. Picking apart the way it was done... who did the deed. Geez... does anyone know these details surrounding the sacking of anyone elses caddie ? Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. I thought the guy should've been dumped for not trying to talk her out of the wedge from that very tight lie behind 18 on Sunday of The LPGA Championship.

I was thinking that if he had a contract there might be legal ramifications...my point was if you get fired, do you really feel better if it was done "right"?...what 16 year old male or female can sit down with a grown man and look and look him in the eye and tell him straight? I don't think that the situation was handled properly, all should have sat down together, but c'mon...a kid isn't allowed to operate a meat slicer in a deli or work overtime until they are 18, conducting a business meeting where you fire someone who is presumably close to you is a bit much to ask!
