I was rooting for Tom. I think it would have been great for him to make the team with a win in the International...and he darn near did it. Took it all the way to a playoff and lost on the second hole to Dean Wilson's Birdie. What did you think...Were you pulling for the "old" man? (before you get up in arms...I don't think 47 is old...In fact, to me it sounds kind of young.)
I have mixed opinions about him. I think he is a good player, and used to pull for him. He seems to have gotten a lot of mileage out of just a few wins, though.
The biggest gripe I have with him is I have heard he is a complete jerk. You would think someone that had to work as hard as he did would appreciate where he is today.
I get a kick out of watching the turkey-neck bobbing he does before each shot. He's a good player, and I think he'll be a good coach for the Ryder Cup. I don't think he'll be a player, even if he qualifies, unless there just isn't anyone else worth picking.

I have heard that about Sergio Garcia from a lot of people, but not about Tom Lehman. That's surprising. I've heard only about how good a guy he is.
No excuses, if USA win it will be because they played better golf.
BTW I do not think either team looks as strong in depth as previous years.
I agree that the Americans aren't as strong depth-wise, but the Europeans have as much depth as they've had maybe ever. It will depend somewhat on who ends up playing (eg Clarke) but it's rare for the Europeans to have more good players than spots to fill, while the Americans don't have enough good players for their 12 spots.
