I assume you've caddied before and know the caddying basics - supplying yardages, golf etiquette, basic rules, proper way to tend the flag, raking bunkers, replacing divots, walking on the green to keep out of everyones putting line, keeping the player's equipment in good shape rain or shine, etc...

What else would you be looking for? Just curious.

I've carried for Canadian open qualifiers, Great Lakes tour etc, but for my club pro or friends, not the "big boys". Just wondering if they are any different ( peculiar etc)
cheers Harry

Some quick things that come to mind...

-if your player putts out, and you are holding the flag, but another player needs to still putt, you hand the flag over to his caddy.

-If a another player hits out of a greenside bunker and is still away, you may need to rake the bunker for that caddy, so he can help his player with his next shot. It's just a common courtesy amongst caddies.

-Not only do you want to stay out of players' lines, but also their "through lines,", which is the line of their putt extended a couple of feet past the hole. this is a courtesy amongst pro players, so if a player misses his putt, he doesnt have to deal with footprints on his next putt from the opposite side of the hole.

-When your player hits his approach, or tee shot on a par 3, have his putter out already, or have one hand on it. It will show him that you have confidence that he will be on the green. As soon as his ball lands, you will be able to quickly hand him the flatstick, always a good feeling for a player.

Best of luck!
