I was very impressed with Lehman's interview on The Golf Channel on Wednesday night 8/16/06 and at his media interview as well. I liked what he said about the experience factor. Here is what he said (short version): “I’ve been saying all along, when it comes to the Ryder Cup, there was a time when Jack (Nicklaus) was a rookie, there was a time when (Tom) Watson was a rookie, there was a time when (Hale) Irwin, (Fred) Couples, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer – they were all rookies at one time. So the idea of not having experience does not scare me at all.” He went on to say that experience is not necessarily a good thing when that experience is in losing.
What did you think? Do you think, as I do, that he might get the team fired up in a way that will be productive?

Ray Floyd and Hal Sutton didn't lack passion. Lot of good that did them.

When people start talking about "getting a team fired up" I think of Bo Schembechler chewing the boys out at halftime, or an impassioned speech about how much it means. I don't see that having a lot of effect on millionaire golfers. Golf is just a different mentality than most sports IMO.

I'd like to see Glover get picked, if he doesn't make the team on merit. Lucas is only 26 so he is one of the future Ryder Cup players, as well as Zach Johnson
