A Bit disappointed with the PGA

I was a set for a very exciting finish. Had all the snacks laid out around 1:00 o'clock.

What we saw was the best player ever prove once again that once he is in the grove the rest of the field are playing for second place.

I was hoping, Di marco, Donald, Sergio, or Ogilvey would give him a run, but no such luck.

We are all very lucky to see this great player show his stuff.

I was hoping for a great finish too, looking forward to having some snacks and some Sam Adams, and watching some great golf.

But hey, the man is in a class of his own, we just got to appreciate the talent that we get to watch and tell the kids about it a few years from now.

I figured it would be closer as well...actually, I had a bad feeling about today's event as the best chance for Tiger to blow that perfect 11-11 with a lead in the final round, but he went out there and showed everyone who THE man on the PGA Tour is. Congrats to him on major #12.

Classic Tiger Woods win. The field just hands it to him. If anyone in the top 5 could have putt half decently, Tiger Woods would be the loser again. Boring, boring, boring, hope Tiger Woods is trampled on next week so we can enjoy golf again.

It was tiger against the 'young guns' in Donald, Ogilvy and Garcia. Good to see Micheel win the tournament he was playing

Tiger's concentration and skill will keep him on top for many years. And I'm looking forward to watching every major he's in.

I'm not really a big Tiger fan but he is just so far ahead of the rest of the PGA tour.

I'm almost 50, so I grew up in the Nicklaus era. Jack was so dominant but there is one difference.

Jack had fewer contenders gunning for him week in and week out until he reached about 35 years old.

Pre 35 years of age, there were maybe 5, 6 or 7 guys who had a chance.

Tiger has to face 20> 25 guys with a chance when he tees it up. So as much as I hate to say this, I think even now Tiger is the greatest player ever.

I've got to be honest...the phrase "handing it to Tiger" is beginning to grate on me just a bit. It's not that I'm an over zealous Tiger fan...I'm a GOLF fan. Tiger knows how to play the game at levels that others don't quite suspect. He earns his victories. Give him his due. You are privileged to witness history. Embrace it. Get over the psychoanalysis.

But it's not 20-25 guys who are actually in it. It's always a handful. Whether 40 years ago or today. It's more like "who's it going to be this week ?... Luke Donald ?... Chris Dimarco ?... Bob May ? ... Shaun Micheel ?"

What I mean is during the late 60's through to the late 70's there were fewer guys who could win going into the tourney, whether Nicklaus was in the field or not.

Now there are 25 or so guys who can win on any week.

I would love to see some stats on how many different winners there were year by year from lets say 65>75. I bet no more that 10 or 12 players.

Now a day you have the Mercedes field which has been as large as 28 players (I think). The field is so much stronger now.

I agree, it was pretty boring to watch. Yes, Tiger played great (not his fault), but nobody else did today.

Well you'd lose that bet big time. Golfonline only goes back to 1970, but of the 3 years I checked 70-72, each had between 25 - 30 different winners. Check the link. Plug in a year and see for yourself.

if your hoping for a DiMarco type, a Donald , Ogilevy and god sakes Sergio LOL giving Tiger Woods a match while he is at the top of his game .... your really begging
DiMarco has hung around a couple of times , but he knew and Tiger knew a DiMarco is not beating Tiger. Besides those guys just like being around and getting a high finish.
It will take one of the big boys to get it done ... if its ever going to happen]
Tiger is unreal
