Agreed!

I think that as a country we americans have an obsession with winning that sometimes comes at the expense of sportmanship. I also think it's one of things other people in the world resent about our country.

I root for the US always, but some of the posts here lead me to believe that some US fans need to get a grip... unpatriotic ?... treasonous ? ...please guys it's a golf match... against Europe. If I'm not mistaken, we're still on pretty good terms with all of the countries involved.

I'm def. rooting for the home team....it finally seems like a majority of the US players are starting to play well and play consistent. It's gonna be exciting to see Tiger is he keeps on this path of fury he has been on.... Would be interesting to see the decision Woosnam makes to play against Tiger in the singles if he is playing really well.....try and put up a battle to win the point or put the weaker player and give up the point.....

Seems like the weather gods smiled unkindly on Tom and his friends.

At least Tom is trying to do the right things. I give the team credit and it shows a little that they care more than they show. I liked reading Wazmankg post about how the Euro's and US teams played during the practice rounds last time. He hit it right on the head.

I just hope the team plays well, has fun, and makes it a competitive contest. It's not much to ask for. I expect their hearts to be in this one more than it has appeared in Michigan.

I've heard European fans and players are just as bad (1997 Ryder Cup with fans, and 2002 with Sergio and others celebrating after McGinley makes putt with players on course)...

If the weather is dud, then that`ll favour the Europeans big time

You'll no doubt remember that it was the late Al McGuire (Marquette basketball coach and trying to give the rest of us some often needed perspective on our society's sometimes overemphasis on winning) that "the only time that winning was really important was in war and surgery."

As much as I liked Al, I think that he should have said "....war, surgery and the Ryder Cup." I am rooting for my Yanks all the way (even if some of the Europeans have better personalities and are more "fan" friendly.[i][i] "USA all the way, Baybee"
