I slept through the Tiger baseball game, woke up and switched to the golf. Now you're telling me it's over and this is on tape ? I may as well go mow the lawn or something.
I saw earlier that Tiger was 3 up on the back nine and figured it was over, but I stayed away from the computer from then on and watched the whole thing and I am glad I did, I thought Tiger was going to lose it there when Cink almost made his chip, and then that 8 foot putt that Tiger missed, I thought Cink would make his.
Finally, someone actually challenged Tiger. I want to see this every week instead of players just collapsing and letting Tiger win. Well earned by Tiger, and good job by Cink for almost closing the deal.
I liked what Lanny Wadkins was saying. When Nicklaus played golf, guys would step up and challenge him. Hopefully we will see some of that again.
I figured Tiger had it in the bag, being up 3 with 3 to play, but good on Cink to claw back into it and force the playoff. Also nice to see that a birdie won it...as it should be in sudden death.

Cink birdied 16 and 17 to get back in it and had several chances to win the playoff.
Sorry for the spoiler folks. I figured anybody watching on TV wouldn't be online! I was working and had the live broadcast from XM, via pgatour.com, going on in my headphones. It sounded so good, I went and watched the tape delayed last few holes and playoff.
Well done, Cink! Your performance validates Lehman's confidence in you for the RC Team.
Well, Tiger barfed yesterday, no one took advantage of it. That's like giving Dirty Harry two extra clips of ammo in a gunfight.
I hate to say it, but I think the Tiger fear factory is working again on tour. I was impressed with Cink, he didn't fold. But a lot of others who did stand to gain from Tiger's demise yesterday pretty much packed it in. It is very rare to see Tiger do what he did yesterday in a championship that he basically owns, one that is probably destined to have his name in 30 years. And to see guys falter right along with him just tells me that they don't have the same confidence when playing with Tiger that they have when he's not in contention. And that's a tough row to hoe when he already doesn't need anymore help to win.
They moved all the tee times up due to the threat of inclimate weather later in the day, by the looks of it they made the right choice, was coming down pretty hard during the last hole of the playoff.
On another note, as many times as I have criticized others for not being able to hang on to a lead down the stretch, it looks as though Tiger isnt immune from this, he did however do what he needed to to win. A job well done by both Tiger and Cink and a pleasurable Sunday to watch.
What was so impressive to me about Tiger was how he gutted it out while his swing was not working very well. He found a way to get the job done, like he has so many times before.
he did, however, open the door for Cink on the 3rd playoff hole (18), when he bogeyed 18, and Cink had a 6-footer for the win, that he was unable to make.

This is, and has always been the most impressive thing about the great man...that he can win tournaments with less than his best stuff. Even when he is playing poorly (by his standards) he still manages to contend.
