Okay, then the article you quoted from wasn't balanced in the information it gave.
The Golf Channel - THE LIBERAL MEDIA!!!!!!
I think the article is perfectly balanced:
CRANS-SUR-SIERRE, Switzerland -- Michelle Wie will compete against men for the 10th time in her career when she tees it up at the European Masters.
The 16-year-old American will make her European Tour debut Thursday, playing with Nick Dougherty of England and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano of Spain. Wie made the cut at an Asian Tour event in May.
“Obviously I want to make the cut and play some good golf,” Wie said Tuesday. “But I can only control what I do. So I just want to try my hardest.”
Wie is aware that not everybody supports her participation in men’s events.
“I’m not expecting 100-percent support every week,” Wie said. “But that’s the way the world works. There are people that support me and people who don’t. I’m not just doing it because of the support I get. I’m doing it for myself and for my own self-esteem.”
In the long term, Wie hopes to play in the Ryder Cup someday.
“That would be awesome,” she said. “But I think it’s totally possible. The players are getting better and stronger and starting to work out a lot more. I hope we can do it.”
Wie got an exemption because one of her sponsors, Omega watchmakers, sponsors the tournament. She prepared for Thursday’s competition by playing a practice round with Sergio Garcia.
“It was the first time, playing it with Sergio,” Wie said. “I’m very honored to be here. It’s going to be a fun week.”
There's only one problem... The only exemptions allowed in the Ryder Cup are with the Captain's picks. ;)
I really don't think that this will be an issue now, nor do I feel it will be an issue needing to be addressed later on. You EARN your way onto the Ryder Cup team, and that will never change.

Why do you stress the word EARN a way into the team. Scott Verplank didn't earn his way in, he was well down the list.
If the Ryder Cup captain fancies her, she has a great chance.
What are the chances of a Ryder Cup captain fancying her when she is in her mid 20s? About 99.99% maybe.
It could be yet another Wie controversy. That girl makes news.
She may make news but the odds are miniscule that she will ever make a Ryder Cup team. Ryder Cup competition is about history and tradition, not who "fancies" whom.
Did you actually think I was serious about that?

Verplank got a captains pick because Tom thinks he can do a job. He didn't earn his way into anything. Tom could have just as easily thought that Davis would have been better. Davis didn't not earn his way into the team, nor did Verplank earn it.
Unless of course, you go on the premise of whoever the captain picks has earned it, because that is the captains right. Then in that case, if Tom invited Morgan Pressel she would have earned it.
One step at a time is right. However she was asked if she would like to play and if she thought it was possible.
She was hardly going to say, the ryder cup is rubbish, who would want to play that.
Now Rodney, I would have thought that Ms Wie could have come up with a more diplomatic answer than that. She has as much chance of playing in the Ryder Cup as Faldo or Norman have in winning another Open Championship !!!

Thank you!
No exemptions in Ryder Cup. She'll have to play her way onto that game, that game ain't about the benjamins.

Not even close. If I had to bet my life on any of the three happening, I would put everything on Faldo, then on Norman, then I'd start planning my funeral
The Masters... Ryder Cup... Any Major at all... it will be very interesting to see
how well this young lady's game will turn out to be in, say 5-10 years from now.
All joking aside.. I think rodney_c has something here..
I mean, she is after all.. Nike owned! And whatever Nike wants, Nike gets!
That said.. she might just make the cut at any Major... make the team at a future
Ryder Cup event... and while we're at it... she may even win a "men's" PGA tournament!
She can only get better... much much better.
So "Believe the Hype!" The girl's got game.. Michelle is here to stay!
ps... I think she makes the cut this weekend, and places in the top 20.
Is that going out on a Swiss Alp ledge?? . . . . .
IMO, if she became a full time PGA player, gained enough of points and qualify for the Ryder Cup team, then by all means, I have no problem with it. But that's just me.
