The look on her face and the tone of her voice in the post 1st round interview leads me to believe that the pressure of her situation is starting to get to her. She needs to cut waaay back on the mens events. Her confidence level can't be very high right now. It's unfortunate that the vegetable who passes for the LPGA commish can't find a way to let her compete full time on the LPGA RIGHT NOW ! That would be in everyone's best interests. Facing adversity will either kill you or make you stronger. I hope I'm wrong, but I watched a girl who's spirit seems to be sinking under the weight of ridiculous expectations.

I completely agree with you on all counts. I've never liked her father from the beginning, and I suppose I could be wrong, but his "people don't understand market conditions" comment made me want to puke. It sounded like he was talking about a commodity to be sold and not his daughter.
The LPGA should absolutely let her play full-time when school isn't in session.
Since she turned 14, she has played 8 mens events, and has performed very well on the whole. Far better than many other prodigies did at older ages on the pga tour.
Woods first 5 pga events versus Wie's first 5 pga events. Also, Tiger averaged over 2 years older in each event:
Event 1: Woods mc by 6. Wie mc by 1.
Event 2: Woods mc by 7. Wie mc by 7.
Event 3: Woods mc by 5. Wie mc by 2.
Event 4: Woods mc by 8. Wie mc by 3.
Event 5: Woods mc by 10. Wie wd.
Sorry, but your analsysis is about as reliable as usual. Unless of course you are claiming that Tiger didn't belong on the pga tour.
And before you spout off about amateur titles, it's not about amateur titles, it's about belonging on the pga tour, as you put it.
What about Event 6 for both? Hmmmm????
So how many men's amateur titles does Ms. Wie have? That in itself would go a long way to proving that she's ready for the men's PGA Tour. Right now she's not ready for the PGA. She's ready for the LPGA and she needs to get her experience on that tour or on the mini-tours where she can compete.
Would you send the best little league all-star team up against an MLB team? No. Why not? Because they can't compete on that level. Give them 10 more years and they might be, but not at that young of an age. Same goes for Ms. Wie.

She can apply for her LPGA card. Nobody has told her that she can't, she just hasn't done it. I don't think that is what she wants to do. If they think she lacks a committment to the LPGA, why would they give her a card?
Look, she plays where and when she wants right now. She gets alot of exposure, and plays all over the world. I would bet that if you add the purse money she collected, along with money from endorsements and appearance fees, she probably took in more money than the top 5 LPGA players combined.
I don't agree with it, but she may as well ride the wave while it is there.
Once you start playing full time on the LPGA it will be different. You have a minimum number of events to play, and you are on the road for 12 weeks at a run with little or no break. You can't prepare for each event the way she does now.
If you think for one second the pressure and expectations will go away, you're crazy. If she didn't win three times in her first full membership year in the LPGA, people would be saying far worse things than they do now.
She would be expected to win, or finish top 3, each time she teed it up. With the exception of Rodney and a couple others, I don't think she is expected to do that right now.
I feel bad for her right now, because I think the choices made, by her and others, have created a problem for her, and it is starting to show.

Hold on, are you actually saying that I'm the one expecting her to do better?
The fact is that I have defended everything she has done so far, and stated time and time again how magnicant it is.
It is bashers who expect more of her.
I have stated serveral times that if she were to win on the lpga before 18 years of age, it would be unprecedented and magnificant. I stated that before the start of the 2006 season.
As far as I am concerned, her results are magnificant and if she keeps going the way she is, she has no problems whatsoever.
Someone needs to get hold of her best interests and put a hold on the mens tournaments and the dumb things she is saying.
1. She has not won any LPGA titles, until she has , stop playing against men, you only look dumb
2. Until you have beaten the best ladies, and regularly, stop talling about ground breaking achievements in the mens game, like qualifying for Ryder Cups.
3. Stop making money, start making birdies.
Her advisors are milking her current position and allowing Nike/Omega etc to maximise sales at her expense - what possible advantage has the last two days brought her.
This young lady represents the most exciting prospect the ladies game has ever seen , but she is being exploited by all the people she should be able to trust.
Full steam ahead ? Did she learn that from the captain of the Titanic?
I do have Tiger's first pro stats, but why would I compare a guy who had about 6 years of top class amateur experience with someone who turned pro much earlier? That would hardly prove anything.
Kinda like comparing her first 5 events vs. Tiger's first 5 events.
"I'm still in shock. I didn't know what sport I was playing out there.
I woke up on the wrong side of the bed again. I really just couldn't
get anything going."

She learned that a short course can be set up very tricky indeed, and that European courses as tougher than US courses.

Sorry if you took that as a direct quote. That was just paraphrasing.
She just said she was even more determined to do well in mens events and that the result in no way put off off playing more mens events.
