He dosen't play well in the Ryder Cup, becuase he is a solo show. But if you held up a Million DOllar check to each winner at the end, he would never lose. He never breaks into serious mode at the cup because he plays it for fun.

are you saying Tiger Woods plays for the money only? there was huge prize money last week, but he lost in the first round.
he wants to win everytime he steps on the course, whether it be Ryder Cup, a Major or a sunday round with his friends (i guess ) if you said what you have just said there, to Tiger im pretty sure you wouldn't be one of his friends (that is putting it gently).

He made zero birdies in the fourballs this morning...I think leaving a guy who is slumping in would be a poor idea. Hopefully he and Furyk find some magic this afternoon, but I'm not betting on it.

Actually I am a huge Tiger Woods fan. I think history will judge him as being the best golfer the world has ever seen until someone knocks him off the pedastal. But, Tiger needs something to motivate him to get him into his zone. I do not think the Ryder Cup does that, I think he goes at it with a lets have fun approach and then when he does poorly it gets under his skin and he can never fully recover. I feel sorry for Lehman, how do you have TW on your team and not play him. Then again with his Ryder Cup history how do you play him. I think he made some poor choices for his Captain's picks, and that is ultimately going to cost us the cup yet again. I am really depressed about the whole deal. Frankly when your rookies are playing some of the best golf and your vets are playing some of their worst, all I can think is that there is not enough to motivate them to play like they do when money is on the line. Lehman should have picked players who have a killer instinct, the Euros all want US blood. The US players want to move on to the next paying tourney.

You can't leave him out....you never know when he will blow up and stomp a mud hole in EU team. However for some crazy reason the USA does not play well as a team. I drives me crazy that I will have to listen to Sergio talk smack it the EU wins.....which he never does the rest of the year becuas he can not putt unitl the Ryder cup comes around.

Sit Tiger out on Friday afternnon. He is 0-5. The next captain should do that and let him know well in advance, so he can decide whether or not to play in the Ryder Cup. Sometimes, I wonder if we'd be beter off without Woods, Furyk (3-11-1 in team play), and Mickelson, who's done worse since he's won majors. Maybe we'd better off with 12 journeymen.

The players that have really stood out to me are Casey because hes having the year of his life I mean what a way to close out a match, Sergio is also playing very well, JJ Holmes and Zach Johnson had great rounds although Zach didn't do as well in the foursomes.

I thought the same thing. He's been a disaster and Cink is a great putter except when it really matters... bad pick.

As it turned out Tiger and Furyk may end up the highest point earners for the US team. They didn't play particulary well but they are making a valuable contribution.
Both Furyk and Tiger didn't play well last week either in the HSBC matchplay championship which is the richest purse in golf, so to say that Tiger plays well only with a million $ cheque in front of him is not correct. If the whole US team underperform don't blame Tiger alone.
