Sunday singles...any chance for the US?

I don't really think so. This team doesn't have anywhere near the experience that the crew that overcame the same 10-6 deficit at Brookline, nor is the European team as inexperienced. Here's the singles lineup for tomorrow...you decide (I've put the men I favor in bold):

11:15AM Montgomerie (EUR) vs. Toms (US)
11:27AM Garcia (EUR) vs. Cink (US)
11:39AM Casey (EUR) vs. Furyk (US)
11:51AM Karlsson (EUR) vs. Woods (US)
12:03PM Donald (EUR) vs. Campbell (US)
12:15PM McGinley (EUR) vs. Henry (US)
12:27PM Clarke (EUR) vs. Johnson (US)
12:39PM Stenson (EUR) vs. Taylor (US)
12:51PM Howell (EUR) vs. Wetterich (US)
1:03PM Olazábal (EUR) vs. Mickelson (US)
1:15PM Westwood (EUR) vs. DiMarco (US)
1:27PM Harrington (EUR) vs. Verplank (US)

By my count, the Europeans should win 7 matches...we'll need some big performances from our lower guys to slay a few giants and give our slumping stars the push they need to drive the rest of the comeback. I don't see it happening...Europe 17, USA 11.

there are too many good, solid players on the European team, who are playing very well, to have a big meltdown. it'll be over early.

The way Garcia and Casey are playing, we're not going to touch those guys. Toms prolly doesn't have a shot vs. Monty. Which means Luke Donald should be the man to retain the Cup for Europe in match #5. He'll prolly take care of Campbell. It'll really be humiliating if Tiger loses to Karlsson, and that's the match that clinches the Cup for Europe.

I'd put a bucket of money on Big Darren Clarke winning the cup for Europe
