Whats up with DiMarco ??

Whats up with the guy? Played poorly throughout the week and then doesnt know when to give it a rest.

He and Westwood were the last match left on the course and Westwood was dormy with two to play. DiMarco drains one on the 17th and starts fist pumping - he looked pathetic.....

Then on the 18th he puts it in the water with his second. He still doesnt shake hands. Even after Westwood puts his second on the green (or close to it), DiMarco wants to carry on !!! Lehman has a word but still no getting through to him. He has another pop at the green and its wet again !!!!!

The atmosphere clearly made him lose his marbles. I know he is competitive and thats no bad thing but it was a bit over the top to say the least.

No biggie. He just wanted to win....too bad everyone else on the US team didn't have the same intensity.

I suppose so. At least the guy hurts. He also seems like a real nice guy when he interviews. Probably just a got a bit carried away.

I actually have a lot of respect for Chris. He played with hear until the end. Playing with heart is something a lot of the players on the American team don't do... mainly Phil "Beer Gut" Mickelson.

The man's a winner, he went down swinging. Even after he hit into the water, he still thought he might be able to hole it from the fairway and get a halve. But he went aggressive and found the water again. Hat's off to him for being a true player. Plus The other guy I think was about 40-50 yards away from the green when dimarco picked up his ball and gave him the match. Wasn't like he was going to be chipping. We need to look at more guys like sergio for the US team and not worry about indivdual wins.

And like I said in the other thread, I was GLAD to see Sergio go down today. His demeanor over the weekend was teetering on poor etiquette.

All I saw was sergio having fun if only the american team could of had that bad of etiquette we would of made a run at the cup.

Of course my statement about his demeanor has a lot to do with my sour grapes. I just thought he was a bit over the top with some of his birdie celebrations.

That's all.

Absolutely right! I think I've said this in another thread (if not, I've been thinking it!), but Sergio plays great when he has someone else he can rely on, but in a singles match he is quite a different player. It's why you won't see him winning any majors between now and the next RC.

DiMArco was showing his team mates that you do not give up until the fat lady has packed her bag and gone home. I suspect he wanted to sneak a half to improve the score ,making it better than last time.

Sergio was entiltled to celebrate, but he does stick his chin out waiting for it to be slapped. I can understand how he riles the Americans who ,via PGA Tour, pay his wages. Treat Americans with respect if you earn your living in their country, the others like Luke Donald and Darren Clarke, do.
