being a good family man and who certainly has his priorities straight will pick and choose wisely the tournaments he''ll play. wouldn't be surprised that he takes the kids with him from time to time. hats off to the PGA for their decision.
I love the decision by the Tour because Darren is one of my faves and it would be ridiculous to penalize him under these circumstances.
I am confused though about his statement regarding playing when the boys are "in school". Wouldn't it be easier to play when they are on vacation from school and can travel with him? Obviously, he's going to have some help (nannies or family members) either way but if he's in the US when they are in school, he'll see them less often, right? And isn't the little one too young for school?

I think the article said they are 8 and 6, so I would think the younger boy has started school.
"To see the look on Conor's face when he turned six was worth a million Ryder Cups," Clarke said.
"When they're not in school, I won't be playing golf.
"Golf is not my priority anymore. My boys are."
DC is a class act from what I have read. It is almost impossible to understand what he is going through.

I'd think that it would be a tough thing to manage either way, but I doubt that his boys, at that age, would want to be following their father all over the world while he plays golf rather than doing the things kids like to do in the summer.
Waz, I think I've read in the past that at most tour stops, they work hard to accomodate the wives and kiddies with lots of side trips, entertainment, and activities. Many of the guys travel with the families when school is out so it probably becomes its own little community of kids. Sounds kinda like fun to me.

I didn't realize that Donna. That does sound like fun.
I am, I am!!! Think maybe Tiger and Elin will adopt me and let me travel the world with them? I could be persuaded to act as big sister to Darren's boys and even babysit on occasion.
What...no posts about crusty old vets holding on to valuable tour space!?!?! Two big thumbs up to the PGA for this...tough circumstances for DC and we all want to see him compete (which he does at a considerably higher level than his place on the money list)...

OK, Donna can watch the kids on Thursday and Friday and Michelle can watch them on the weekend.
