I can still tee it up!

Thanks for your service Lou! I only fought the "Cold War" when I served.
My problem in golf is usually my partner but a fit of birdies from both of us carried the day yesterday.
Anyway, I had looked up some stuff and thought I'd share. Particularly, Tiger's quote stating that he needed to
grow up before he could compete on the PGA Tour. Sorry there is no article to link to. I just thought it was interesting how Tiger reacted to his first event on the PGA Tour. I think it really helped him realize HOW MUCH better he had to get in order to compete. Comparatively, perhaps it would have been better if Wie didn't shoot 72-68 in her first time out (high expectations)...... Regardless, I think that similar language from her would make some less threatened, angry, disrespected, etc.
I suppose it's OK for her to think grand thoughts as long as she doesn't voice them publicly but I tend to think the words "I can't compete here, I'm not good enough, These guys are too good" can't be uttered when she doesn't really
think that to be the case, especially when she's asked directly...... You know, kids tend to be more honest than adults for the most part.
Anyway, I think it behooved Tiger's development to be able to compete on the PGA Tour without all the scrutiny when he was a teenager..... and maybe telling some white lies about her own personal projections would allay some people's insecurities and allow her to proceed without so much fanfare.
