Ive never before seen a player like Justin Rose

Shoot lower first round scores. I wish someone would take the time to post his leading first round scores or ties or even just great first rounds. Its incredible how many times he goes low in the first round. If he learns to play like he does in the first round hed be unbeatable. Anyone else ever notice this funny trend he seems to have? In such a short career thus far i have noticed numerous first round great scores. Its a bit odd to be honest.

Maybe because the pin placement gets harder as the rounds go on, meaning the ball needs to be shaped more and your accuracy needs to be better as well. Im not trying to take away from his game because obviously he is very talented, but this might be the difference.

Spot on, Justin is well known for his blazing first rounds. I would be very surprised if he held on but there is no doubting he is due to break through for a win. This event is so wide open and I believe that one course is approximately two shots harder so we will have a good gauge after 36 holes.

I think they reported he has been in the lead for times this year after the first round. Im sure he has had some last year as well. The guy is a solid golfer who is due on tour. Seems like a gentleman as well.

Well after three rounds he has fallen behind but maybe, just maybe, he can recover and have a great final round. He will need a score of around 66 or 67 to be in contention so lets wait and see.

I have always followed Justins career as I saw him play in 1998 just after "that" British Open in the British Masters at the Forrest of Arden when he was on that awful run of missed cuts. No word of a lie when I say he played like a 20 handicapper - 2 shanks, thins galore on his way to an 80 something. I really admired the way he just kept going, many others would have given up halfway through the round, but not him. Great to see him playing well.

Yeah it sure was/is! I thought there would be no one from the old BBC clan here. Most have joined golf observer and to my annoyance one particular poster has flooded the forum with images! I stumbled on this forum before the summer break and promised to register since it seemed a nice place (with cute smiles)..... What was your username on BBC?

Well it's a small internet I was "goldmatt", didn't post all that much, but same as you, registered with GO but it keeps going down. This is a great forum with members from all over the world, I'm sure you'll love it.
